Hello,
I have a leaky Lunar 390/2. My plate is just above door, on the inside. Whether a previous owner put it there I cant say.
I bought this van last summer> it had been dry for a good while, so internal panels were all good. When we went away in October to Northam Farm, Brean, it must have been the worst weather we have ever had. High winds, lashing down rain ALL weekend. On the Sunday evening, juat as we were going to bed, I happened to touch sidewall under left hand side window. It was all squelchy.Too say that it dampened our enthusiasm for the van was an understatement.
When I got round to resealing that sides rails, I found that the overlaps of panels were void of any sealant between the upper and lower panels. The seams were prised apart and sealed with a good non hardening mastic. I had to replace all the awning screws, and re-drill inbetween the original holes and use some longer next size up screws. I resealed the rest of the rails on that side.
The inside I will do after this season is over, the outside other rails done at same time. I am NOT looking forward to doing the two rails at the front, the one that holds all the windows will be especially hard.
It is too good a little van to let it go.
Regards,
Greg
