if these sites don't get you one way they will another - passes for the pool, key fob for the loos, paying for showers etc.

I have a 15 and 17 year old so it works out for us at 4 adults which is not a cheap break away anymore

Oooh, this makes me mad too. It's not as if they are earning at 14 and contributing to the household (well mine aren't anyway). It's just another excuse to fleece parents, in my opinion.

I often think parents with children should be charged less when you go places like theme parks and days out, because we never get to see everything and make the most of the facilities.

I'd rather be camping

Now then, I'm 41yrs old and I remember when I was 14 yrs old I suddenly had to pay full fare on the bus - not just camping sites !

Yes, this is nothing new. When I was 14 I had to pay full bus fare and was classed as an adult when I went to watch the football and the cinema!

Charging adult prices on camp sites (and other places where there are no extra facilities other than bars!) before kids are 18 makes me mad, but I can see why places like Disneyland charge 'adult' prices from (for example) 12 - restrictions on the rides are mostly height-related and by 12 the vast majority of children are tall enought to ride them all.  Last time I went to Flamingo Land, they charged admission depending on height, not age!!

Disneyland - adult at 12 yrs old - my lad was 13 when we went, the lass at the counter of the Disney Store wasn't at all amused when I said he'llbe getting the first round in when we get there. I couldn't understand her displeasure?

Lets work backwards,  adult at 40 to get cheap car and bike insurance, (used to be 25......) adult at 21 to drive an ambulance, 18 to vote, 17 to drive, 16 for a moped, 14 for adult fare on the buses, trains etc, gawd knows for campsites. Seems as though if you're shelling out money the age gets lower........no surprise there then !!!!
