Snowy - when we chose our 'van we started by deciding on the layout we wanted (4-berth, end bathroom) and the rough price-bracket. We saw a few vans at local dealers (including the model we ended up with, which we liked from the word go), then we made a load of checklists that listed all the features of our 'ideal' 'van (lots of room in the bathroom, plenty of work-space in kitchen, big roof-light, etc, etc) - we then went to the big show at Earls Court armed with our checklists and had a wonderfully enjoyable day going over caravans with a fine-toothed comb. Eventually, we ended up ordering the Compass and we love it - we've had it since February, have lost count of the number of times we've been out, and have yet to find something where we could honestly say, 'XXXXX model was better in this aspect'. All the leg-work of looking at all the models was well worth it. You wouldn't spend £12000 (the cost of our 'van) on a new car without a decent test-drive, would you???
