From the magazines my mate keeps giving me trying to get me to join so he can claim his fiver, I'd say the mags are worth the membership fee so everything else must be a bonus. They rejected my application claiming my outfit wasn't up to standard thirty years ago (wish I'd kept the letter of rejection) so I might give them another go after my mate stews a little longer.

We are in both clubs - They are worth the money and the sites are always clean. I personally have not experienced any problems with either club and using both clubs gives us a wider choice of locations.
We have also used C&C's oversea holiday booking section 'CAREFREE' twice now for our caravan trips to France and Italy - both times with no problems at all and special discount for the Car ferries.
Joined this year and used CC for our first Caravan trip to France Good advice and value for money (Got the joining fee back with the money we saved on our ferry booking)
Try and book a pitch or two and see how you get on. I was going to join the CC, and was going to join when I got on site.
but I never got there - they were always full at popular times such as summer and weekends!!!
So I decided not to join a club where I couldnt get a pitch. If you go off peak or if you think I was just unlucky all last year, then go ahead! The CC do a magazine which a neighbour gets. Quite reasonable one - might be worth th emoney just for the mag?

hi Geoff, 7 years ago we thought the same as you do now.get a caravan,up and go when ever the mood or time was right.this was true to some extent.we are in both clubs.this gives us a wide choice of sites all over the country. caravan sales have gone through the roof,we now find if you do not book you do not get in. mainly at holiday times.we now plan and book in December for the year.at the last count i think it was half a million caravans in use now, good job they do not all go out at the same time.to be fair we are retired now and can go at low times.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
It's worth it for the clean loo blocks alone, lack of dog poo on sites, no loud music late into the night, CLs, helpful staff and great sites - we love Chatsworth and Troutbeck Head.
------------- It's easier to ask forgiveness than seek permission!
well i suppose the caravan club wins guys and dolls thanky ou for the great advice and i didnt realise how freindly this site is maybee it should have a ploo for the best advice site ??????????
