1). Sounds Digital.

RE - The kids are aged 49, 45, 14 and 12 (the last two will get the bunks). etc.

It was a joke !!!!!!

2). Michael and Rob, thanks for your more constructive replies. Do either of you own the caravan you suggest ? We are told that foreign vans are very well made and are superior to British ones, though to be fair our Avondale was very good.

I bought my friends Avondale leda pennine last year. She bought a brand new Avondale Dart with the fixed bunks and is already looking at other vans as she says she misses all the seating at the back and as its no back windows its not as nice (ecspecially for being nosey on sites as she is!!ha ha) I must admit I prefer the openess of an all round view!!!

Geist do a nice twin bunk with windows... the charisma is a gorgeous van - i had a look at one a while back and very nice and modern looking. I can get 25% off retail via a pal so it is tempting us....

Andy as for foreign vans - anyone with one will tell you how solid they are - we love our german babe...

Hi, we have a Fleetwood Sonata Prelude which has twin bunks with windows.  We are new to caravanning so can't really compare it to others but we are very happy with it.

To Mick and SMH.

Thanks for your thoughts, all taken on board. Feel like I need a holiday already.

Mick would made you plump for a twin axle ?

Hi Trevor

The layout was perfect, as we'd already seen a neighbours van, and the deal to exchange our Avondale Argente was too good to refuse, the Lunar was discounted by a couple of grand and we were offered our private sale price for the Argente. Also, the weight of the van allowed us to keep our existing tow car......just!

It's a lot of van for the money, had everything the Argente had, as we managed to bag one with the 'options' pack on it, which included the alarm, stereo, spare wheel, alloys, omnivent and to our surprise, 2 of the new Alko secure wheel locks, which I believe retail at over £200 each, hence me selling all my existing security gear on the free ads.

Downside is we have to now use storage over winter and a seasonal pitch in summer, which makes going away seem to be a little more hassle, but we'll see when go away at Easter.

If you need to know anymore just ask and good luck with whatever you decide.

Mick

Thanks to every one who have taken the time to share their views. We are still no nearer making a decision and have taken on board Blondieandi's views re the pros of having the rear dinette, thoughts that we haven't discounted ourselves .... so a 5 berth front and back dinette is now on the agenda along with the fixed bunks.

There I was thinking that with a reasonable amount of hard earned cash we would find another caravan easy peasy ......................... bah !!

What does really cheese me orf is driving miles to a dealers facilities thinking that they will have a good assortment to have a look around only to find fixed bed after fixed bed after fixed bed (not bunks). Kids holidays are up and coming so we will be doing it again no doubt.

Anyone know one place where they have a decent range of various German vans ??

Thanks to all that gave us their views and thoughts, especially Blondie who made us have a major rethink. As a result we are the owners of a 2 year old Bailey Auvergne. Thanks again.
