Thanks Happyhen, will have a look at their site.

It must be a problem with the awning because, we seem to have the same trouble, thought it was just us not putting it up right though!

We have another smaller lightweight awning as well and this one has elastic through channels at the edge were it comes into contact with the caravan, this is easy to tighten to get a better fit.

You need to peg the bits next to the van under the van if you can to get it to fit reasonably tight.  If you are on a hardstanding you can bungee them to the chassis which is what we had to do last time.

It has never struck me as being particularly "flappy" nor have we had a water ingress problem including 4 days of wind and rain last time out.

We attached a ruther guy rope to ours half way down the side that is nearest the door and we tie this to the pull handle on the rear of our van and then no flapping

 regarding getting the awning to fit close to the van .

I have a 260 for my bailey series 5,it seems to be a common problem with all makes of this type of awning. I cant think of the max /min heights for the awning rail that sunncamp specifie but my vans awning rail was too low. I removed the rubber tips from the top of the poles & cut off the difference(2inches) the awning fits much better now.

hi old chap i removed 2 inches from the poles also it realy made a difference an old couple pointed it out to me last year when i told them mine wasnt fitting as hard up against the van as theres was
