We're off to Devon tomorrow afternoon for a short break, but we're rather hoping for a clear run from Tamworth to Newton Abbot. Being a Monday afternoon in October (I know, it's half term) I think we should be O.K. Unless, of course, anyone knows different!
Well if the A303 at Podimore/Sparkford was anything to go by yesterday it was sheer lunacy out there! I took mum out for a little ride and ended up sat in queues.

Best wishes,
Have a great time, I love it down there but please please take heed of the advice in the travelling to Scotland thread when travelling to the more remote parts
Could be a little slow around the Avonmouth bridge [junction 18 M5] as they are in the process of resurfacing it through to next January. Reduced narrow lanes paticularly in the morning / evening rush hours.
Thank you for the coments, Dave & David. I'll keep a watch out for the road works at Avonmouth - I don't suppose there's much of a chance of me missing them!
Do hope it's OK tomorrow, but, I don't think I need touch the A303 - It's M42, M5 and A380 for me - I hope!!
Best wishes
No but the A303 is a good indicator of the conditions on the M5 routes too. I remember going to the Peak District and travelling back on the first Saturday of half term. 7 hours it took, the M5 was madness from Gloucester downwards.
