We have, even with baby - but to be honest I never felt great about it. Youve got to have some form of heating on a night time - especially with kids. We bought a ceramic fan heater with thermostat then i converted the Truma to dual fuel with their ultraheat kit - best £130 I ever spent. Now we've got electric heat on a thermostat all night.
Obviously if you dont use EHU then you have 2 choices - freeze or put the gas on. I have never heard of gas (in modern vans) killing anyone. There was that poor guy last year but he had an old system i remember. They are designed for all day and night use remember. We have Co2 detector anyway, and everyone should have one. Providing you have one of them, then nothing else can go wrong.
