O H says I have to confess. The 1 hr 30min is with 2 of us, working well together. I think she means SHE is in charge, but yes. O H is worth her weight. Mainly spotting which end of the awning to thread first, and which side up!
Those of us who do it in a short time are just referring to the original question, or our interpretation of it.
To me, setting up means only putting it in position, legs down, electric and water supplied, and fluid in the toilet. I certainly don't include the housekeeping as part of the setting up.
Spot on Tykey. That's how I read it as well.
... and we fill the fridge and put the food in cupboards before we leave as well.

Takes us about 20 minutes I should think, for the basics but as we took the new van away for the first time it took OH a bit longer to sort out the water as the manual seemed to have back to front instructions! Plus this one has an onboard water tank. As he's a plumber he sorted it out. I usually get water for tea from the nearest tap, in the kettle. We don't have an awning but want a VERY easy porch awning so we can keep the dirt off the carpets.
Hi i'm new also to caravaning. We had our caravan out over the weekend holiday .Was a little worried about hitching and unhitching.Previously on our last 2 breaks we always found that no matter where you go you will always find someone willing to help you.I have. Then out at the weekend there I done it All by Myself with help from my father /sister.But within 1 hour or so we had it all set up water, electrics, and tea ready to relax end enjoy. I was so delighted that we managed everything by ourselfs. No problems. Now looking forward to many more holidays in our first caravan. So go ahead take the plunge enjoy the outdoors and meet lots of campers/caravaners.
Good luck.

Hey, I've just been thinking properly. It doesnt matter how long it takes to pitch, does it? Its all a little adventure, and every site is different. So have a chat, a cuppa (or a glass of wine), admire the surroundings and presto!. It will all go together.

We have a very easy porch awning. It takes around 10 mins to have up and running. We have tried 4 different sorts and we regard this as one of our best buys. It is an Outdoor Revolution Tech-lite. One flexy pole and our caravan has no straight awning rail to put it on and this fits snuggly tyo the van with very little sagging. Highly recommended.

and does it matter if it's today, tomorrow, or next week. Some things might be better for never being done, and that way it saves you having to pack away something you never actually wanted to use.
