Wow, I thought this was a friendly site. We're going to Scotland for the first time too in september and had thought the same, not because we think you are all aliens an some strange land but because of visiting other places in the UK i.e. Wales and the Lakes we know there are certain areas which would be extremely difficult to navigate with a large vehicle.

I certainly hope the posts on this site aren't a true reflection of the hospitality, maybe we'll stick to friendly Cumbria!

Take no notice of those who cannot read whats written.  The rest are truly okay!  We've done all over Scotland towing a large van following my father towing an Eldiss van, and where he got to, water couldnt.  I'm sure the roads have improved a lot since we last went over 20 years ago.

We have been plenty of times  camping all over in Scotland although traveling on a motorcycle.Even did our honeymoon on the bike.They can be a bit narrow in places but have seen caravans and motorhomes there without any difficulty.Been to John O Groats over the top to Durness.Had a trip to see Cape Wrath and that is an adventure in minibus doing a slow drive to get to the lighthouse.

Just go and enjoy your self,don't worry and I know you will find every thing OK.

Yep, we did that route in reverse going from Edinburgh to Aberdeen then all round the coast and back via Inverary and Loch Lomond in 1972.  Volvo 145 towing a 2 berth Abbey.

1998 our first trip with our Emerald was from Glasgow via Blair Atholl to Inverness, and the same route from there.  Towing with our previous Volvo 940.

On nearly every road you travel in Sotland you will probably meet a tour coach (even the the single track ones) So unless you go right off the beaten track I would not worry about 25 feet.

BTW Andy,  is Sotland anywhere near Scotland ?
