Make sure you have a waranty from the suplying dealer & that it is clear from any default & have the Bailey waranty transfered to you, It will cost about £60 have the servicing done by A Bailey dealer/certified service centre Within the time frame specified by Bailey.
this should all in the Bailey manual

Hi Chips95 I purchased a baileys ranger in 2005 just been told it as damp in the right hand corner, this problem stems from cracks that have developed on the front panel.a caravan engineer told me it was a factory fault with baileys, when they screw the awning rail on they just screw into the plastic front panel without pre drilling this causes the plastic to split. The splits them spread beyond the awning rail letting in water. when the baileys engineer put my cracking problem to baileys they wanted to know what service history i had, becauce i didnt have full history due to having a spell out of work they would only supply the parts needed to do the job, still leaving me with a bill for the labour £1,000. should i  be out of pocket for a known problem caused in there factory. i dont think this as anything  to do with having kept up with there services i mist 1 service.

hi reading the posts on this subject i wondered if this will help anyone. the back panel on our 470/4 is secured at the bottom underneath with what turned out to be 1 inch twist nails i noticed one was a bit loose so i pulled it out it was very rusty , i pulled all of them out 8 in all and they were all the same   i was quite suprised to find this in a van thats just 3 years old so i replaced them with stainless steel screws and put plastic covers on them . i would think in time the nail heads would rust away or the body of the nail could expand with rust and split the plastic panel, it seems a very poor way to fix the panel with nails ,it wouldnt take much longer to put screws in on the assembly line .

you are correct, the nail or screw will expand with the rust and crack the panel, this happened to my shower tray to cupboard assembly.i noticed a small crack at the bottom of the cupboard in the toilet.on examination the screw had rusted very badly and cracked the tray.as luck would have it,it was hidden away.ours is a bailey.

With regard to previous posts about servicing.

To keep the warranty valid you don't just have it serviced at a Bailey approved dealer, it can be serviced at any NCC approved workshop.  They cannot carry out any warranty work though, if any faults are found it will have to be returned to a bailey dealer for repair.

We had our 2006 Bailey Indiana serviced at a Bailey dealership, and upon inspection they noticed our end panel has a crack on the roof, they contacted Bailey and it is booked into have a new panel and awning rail fitted in August under warranty, we were told that Bailey are taking the problem up with the panel makers as they are slightly too small and this is putting stress on them and cracking.  Sorry to hear you now have all the hasstle of trying to go via Bailey yourself, last year, they fitted us a new door, so I think it pays to go to the mains dealer.

Hi all

Just had my Bailey Champagne ser5 2006 model serviced and 2 cracks were found on the front panel and 1 on the rear panel. I then looked at the panels and found a further 3 cracks on the front panel and 1 on the rear. It is still under warranty and will be repaired under the warranty thats fine but my concern is this who pays if it cracks again when the van is just out of warranty?

I am going to contact Bailey tomorrow and ask that question, our van has been back to the factory 3 times already, can't wait for more grief!!!!!!!!!

I have just been on the phone to Bailey, and I just want to let you know what Bailey are telling me about panel cracks and also about the warranty.

Firstly they have changed their supplier who manufacturers the panels.

They also told me that Bailey offer a 3 year manufacturers warranty, plus 6 year

body shell integrity guarantee, water ingress/body leaks and delamination for 6 years, and this is honoured by Bailey regardless of whether you purchased it from a dealer, or privately, or even uncle John Cobley, on caravans which were purchased from 2005 upwards, it must be serviced by a Bailey dealership which is the only stipulation that is required.

Anyone who is worried should speak to Bailey on 01173052939

So, just ensure that you get it serviced by a main dealer once a year, don't let it go longer than a year, as that could be a get out clause, Bailey never said that, but I thought I would just say that just in case.

Because that's what the warranty terms and conditions say, Terms and Conditions are binding and within the law.

No you don't have to get it serviced by a Bailey dealership, they do tell you this but in fact you can have it serviced by any NCC approved workshop, and your warranty won't be invalid. I have this in an email from Bailey.

If you have a main dealer near you and you are happy to have it serviced there then go ahead but some people live miles from a dealer or prefer to have it serviced elsewhere. As I have already said if there are faults found that you want doing under the warranty, then it must go back to a Bailey dealer for these.

freinds had a burster caravan, burster contacted them to tell them there was a fault with the front windows of the caravan model they had, they recalled are there vans to fix the problem. They didnt have to show that the van had full services history. This problem baileys has with cracks in the panels is a problem which stems from there factory, and therefore should be put right by them weather you have serviced the van or not.

i have to agree with RRDKL i have serviced my van myself from new i accept that i have invalidated the warranty it was my choice , but i do think baileys have a problem with the installation of the front and rear panels causing some of them to crack .it would be a good customer relations exercise if nothing else to replace faulty panels regardless of a service history .i suppose most will be done under warranty anyway as  there cant be many people who would  ( some would say stupidly) take the gamble and do like i have done
