we had a similar problem with a car on ebay,it was supposed to be 'immaculate, mint inside and out,new tyres all round, sunroof'so off we went a 9 hour round trip, paint was peeling off roof, the sunroof wasnt there, old tyres, engine sounded dodgy.we didnt buy,but all the seller kept saying was what do you expect for ££££.i said i expect it how it was advertised.he shrugged his shoulders. He advertised car again, when it sold i emailed the new buyer and told them the condition as it was.dont know if they bought it or not,but he never got his feedback for it

It's not just Ebay. Go to 'Search' at the top of this page, put in 'Glossop' and topic - 'Caravans'. The last thread listed is mine!
Glossop Caravans is supposed to be the biggest dealer in the UK and we bought from them because we were first-timers and knew nothing about second-hand caravans so we thought it would be better to go to a dealer who would give us a warranty. We were so ripped off, we cannot believe that a so-called 'reputable' company can operate like this within the law.
They sold us a caravan running with damp as 'dry' and, after we'd sussed them out and whilst we were waiting for them to fetch it back, they re-advertised it. It now seems they have sold it to someone else!
I think we only got a refund so easily because my OH was working for a barrister who dealt in Consumer Law and I threatened them with court.
We bought another van off Ebay, two years younger, a lot cheaper and with everything we needed (and dry)! so not everybody on Ebay is a crook but I'm sure there are more rogues in second hand caravans than in horse dealing!
Shop around, trust your instincts, don't be taken in by 'Honest Joe' salesmen and TAKE A DAMP METER. The good vans are out there, you've just got to find them.
