i know... ive totally lost the plot but nothing out there came close to the pegasus and with the ideal layout of fixed bed full width washroom on a single axle and still be able to tow to france with a mondeo & knowing we`d never get the offer of anything near that part ex price on our van again it had to be done.i dont even regret it the day after like sometimes you do with these things, simple fact is we dont need to consider any change of van for at least 10 years.....i think.lol

funny thing is we bought a porch off towsure  to match the colour scheme on the compass, left it at the stand for the afternoon while we browsed then went back last thing to swap it for a blue porch to go with the bailey...think the salesman thought id gone loopy as well17

cant get my head round the 554 layout with the bed across the middle though, abit pointless imho

What porch did you buy to fit the pegasus?  We are looking and can't figure out what will fit the 534.  It sounds like you have bought the same model as us.  The height is an issue with lots of them.

Aw I am sure you will love it, as for Mrs Mop ........ bribe me not to tell him lol!

As for me I am clueless as to what to do, do we get a decent secondhand one for our seasonal pitch, or a Pegasus?

Yes I would also like to know which porch awning. We have an ordianry awning with annexe which will not fit the Pegasus.

Can you get a small porch awning with an annexe. I dont want to use a full awning anymore.

It sounds like everyone is getting very good trade in deals, lets hope when the time comes the price is the same when the part ex is checked.

Had a look at one at our local dealers yesterday and thought the plastic bumper bits on the front and rear seemed a bit flimsy and not sealed to the van.

Andy

i'm not jealous, honest.

Andy,

I think you're right. The trims look rotten throughout: they just don't fit, inside or out!

The good news is that they are no longer "mission critical" like in the old vans, simply there to make it look more pretty.

I cannot imagine the Pegasus depreciating nearly as fast as a standard construction 'van, if only because ALL the warrnaties are so much greater.

But, only time will tell..

seems we were mis informed with our porch.its 13cm too short on the height so we are getting a full refund on it.

we saw a porch with annexe at the show but think it will be the same height problem.

think we might end up with a full awning unless somebody comes up with a lightweight 260 or 390   porch to fit

What height is the Pegasus's awning rail from the ground?
We had an early Hymer [2002] and that's rail was at 250 CM which seemed high by comparison with other vans.
However Isabella's Minor and Magnum are designed for 240CM +/- 10 CM and the Magnum fitted well on most pitches that were reasonably flat. It was of course working at the top of its height capability.
And of course they also offer the cheaper but still very good Ventura range of similar porches/part awnings.

I have checked on the Bailey Web site and the vans only 263CM high. As the status aerial is 15 cm and the awning groove is slightly down from the roof, say 3CM, then the rail cant be higher than 245CM. So Isabella's porches and probably others would fit a treat, from a height point of view. [ lengthways it needs checking ]
You would not want to degrade your lovely up market Pegasus with a lower spec awning anyway!!!!

I agree these early models shown at the NEC did show trim fault/gaps and that folding bed !! (still, the wife climbs over to get to the toilet anyway)
The front furniture is ideal to re-position

If any of you get the Pegasus 534 you will have a difficulty in finding a porch awning to fit. We have a Series 6 California same length and layout and most porches will not fit due to the position of the bedroom window, most porches will partially cover this window, the lightweight ones will be ok but that will be about the only ones fit. We in the end went down the road of the Fiamma Caravanstor.

Have to say NEC was disappointing, coming away, one visitor couldn't even find a leisure battery on sale (there was one! stand selling).
So much was missing, as we went over it coming back on Tuesday, even Towsure had limited its display of outdoor furniture.
Winters coming and suppliers are only interested in racking up sales for the New Year.
