We are over the moon with ours.

It is a fantastic, well appointed, well laid out caravan.

I hope it will give me years of sterling service.

Away again this weekend, and a full season booked ahead of us.

 Theres one thing in life that really winds me up .......Its when someone is having problems and another person comes along with their arms folded sucks in their teeth and proclaims " Well I would never have done that!! "     

I think that everyone that has posted about the  faults they are having with their new pegasus are very brave in doing so as they must feeling very glum and let down at the moment .What they dont need is the sucking in teeth brigade making them feel even worse .

I do hope you all get it sorted soon and we get to hear how happy you all are with lots of smiley faces

Haven't posted for quite a while but just wanted to say that I am so so happy with my Pegasus 534. Love it to bits and it tows like a dream. No problems so far.

Downside is that we've got to be very careful on weight. After weighing literally every single thing, I was shocked at how much over the weight allowance I was in the last van. Silly little bits like candles, oil cans, Parmesan cheese grater, light weight (!) oven tray, Lenor, hand wash, herb and spice bottles that I've added over the last few years just thinking, oh, that's Ok, it doesn't weigh much. Well I was 27 Kg over-weight, ooops!

We did the opposit had the sancerre on order, but took one look at the 534 and switched.  We are totally bowled over by the van, it left the sancerre looking rather dull. 

To be honest I don't care whether people who have pageants don't like the peggy.  I am sure they don't care whether I like the pageants.   These threads are useful to people who cannot decide which one they wnat, if people can stay objective that is.

Spidey lets not forget that the peggy is the replacement for the Senator which was the flagship of the Bailey range. The Senator was a couple of thousand quid dearer than the Pageant and generally given the extra goodies was worth it. The difference in goodies between a S7 Pageant and the peggy is much slimmer and leaving aside the Alu-tec comes down to a telly for the extra 2 grand.

The replacement for the Pageant will be the Olympus which is on a narrow body and will have to be less well equipped than the peggy and be roughly the same price as the Pageant meaning that Pageant owners will have to downgrade spec to get less space and an Alu-tec body. In a nutshell the value for money aspects of this range change is what I find annoying.

After all I could easily choose to trade in my present van for a peggy should I wish - my main point is that from a value for money point of view its 2 grand more for very little more extra than a telly. The Olympus is a non starter being same price, smaller and with poorer equipment.

Hope that makes sense. I have nowt against peggys or the people that buy them. I have a problem with the Bailey range re-alignment for reasons I've already above. Then to add insult to injury the build quality would seem to be less than ideal.

we have never had a new caravan until this one , the newest we have had was 4 year old. never had a new car or remotely new car either , 5 years + when we get them.

we bought the Pegasus because we liked it ,we could afford it , we could tow it, it was the right layout and it should last our caravanning lifetime.

nothing to do with being  "a want one and want it now type !!!!!!!!"

With equal respect I wasn't talking about you, it appears you have been very unlucky, no, I mean the group who always want the new must have item first and then live to regret it.

I stick with what I say, never take a new project in it's first year unless you like being at the forefront of an experiement.

its a caravan not a spaceship,

whoopee , its a different body construction but hardly rocket science

how difficult can it be to build a box on wheels that doesnt leak or fall to pieces first time you use it ?

if you cant have confidence in something that simple then what hope is there ?

Dave8858, there is quite a bit more than the tv in spec differences between the Pageant S7 and the Pegasus:

as well as the tv (which has now been upgraded to a 16" model)

All this on top of the extra 4 years water ingress warranty
