Didnt get time to wash mine before it got put away for the winter but intending to do it sometime soon. Although it is in storage, there is a coldwarer tap and pipe in one corner where you can take the van and wash it. Great facilitly and one of the reasons I chose this site to store as like many others, I would never ever get the van on my drive.

Washed our newly acquired 2006 van for the second time at the weekend there. The roof looked like it hadn't been done in ages, I shredded my fingers getting at the green slime build up under the skylight edges. The guttering was also full of green slime. Back of a tea spoon shoved into the sponge sorted that out. Sparkling like new! Then it rained. :-( !! Took me hours too.
Wash it once and then use a good caravan polish, especially on the front. Then all you need do is give it a wipe over. I've used Care-avan and been pleased with the results.

This thread is making me feel guilty. We can't easily do ours at home. Be careful for those who suggest taking it to a do it yourself car wash. Putting on the soap is OK, but later stages often involves using a power spray. With conventional build caravan you need to be extremely careful that the power of the spray doesn't ruin the sealant/ cause water ingress. With the Bailey alu-tech, I suspect you have to be careful not to knock the bits of flimsy trim from off the shell of the van!!!
Hi David - I have the same problem as you ! If you go back a page and look for what gazmister123 has recommeded - thats what I'm going to do - sounds just the job!!

We take a 25 litre water carrier or you could take an aquaroll up to the caravan storage and we also have one of those garden pressure sprayers with a lance on the end for rinsing off., We wash it with hot water taken from home and fenwicks caravan cleaner and rinse it with bobby dazzler in the garden sprayer thing and works wonders.
Did exactly this today !! I now have a fabulously sparkly clean caravan. Soooo pleased. Thank you for your advice!

I cannot be doing with the green stuff and black streaks!!! I've just brought mine home after the over winter period for a good clean and polish, if i polish it properly the muck will run off saving time next round, sometimes you see vans that have never been cleaned in years out on the road and wonder what sort of people own them, also a clean van adds extra value!
Lol he dreads the very thought of streaks or the slightest bit of dirt. He hates seeing caravans unloved with a green roof. You should have seen him in the snow......yes at one point (when it was clearing) he went out but only to wipe it over! He is just the same with the jeep. Maybe your onto something there! Ive just asked him and he said "yes what a great idea. If you want it washing bring it over for a charge of course".
Also like to see van clean before going to a site. just got back from our first outing of the year, and had to go straight to a jet wash just after picking up the van. HAD A BIT OF TROUBLE The ground where we park it was very wet had the car wheels spining. mud all over the van and even on the roof of the car. a rite old mess.
