Three years ago I bought a Powrtouch direct from the factory on a DIY basis, it was really easy to fit. We used to man handle our previous van (Elldis Whirlwind) out of our parking place to the car, then when we changed to our present van we had to make sure we had family/neighbour help to get it in and out, but now with the mover I can do it all on my own and as we are both in our 60`s it`s no problem

Maybe for you but it wouldn't be for me - when I said I don't do technical I meant it, I wouldn't know one end of a spanner from the other. It takes me all my time to check the oil in my motorbike! lol. So back to my original question - would I be able to get one fitted for me?

There's an ad on ebay for the Purpleline one fitted for £599.  Didn't look at it to see whether it's nationwide but might be worth a shot.  Most suppliers seem to offer a fitting service.

Hi adsheadv and Tigermouse

I would recommend the Powrtouch HD as the answer to your needs. We had one fitted to our 1500Kg 'van just before Easter. It has revolutionised moving our 'van off/on our "tight", sloping drive. In addition we can can put the 'van on forward so it is harder to steal.

P/T originally pricematched ours against a Rhyno Charger at £970, fitted with an electric actuator. The salesman said that the Rhyno Light (£75 cheaper) was not comparable for a pricematch. I later discovered that others on Caravan Talk Forum had been given a pricematch against the Rhyno Light and P/T agreed to compromise on a figure of £930 (split the difference)

Regarding customer service I queried how the P/T fitter had fitted the mover, cables near to the back of hot heater, and P/T sent out another fitter to rectify the problem the SAME day that I had contacted them.

The mover will really come into its own in the Summer when we will be able to maneouvre it into tight Continental pitches and, also, position the 'van forwards for the best views.

It's a lot of money I know, but we have taken advantage of the P/T interest free installments of approx one third as a deposit and the balance over 6 monthly installments.

Hi adsheadv and Tigermouse,if getting mover fitted, you could go to your local caravan showroom as they fit movers, would expect for around £150, or as been mentioned here, check if the company supply mover and can send mobile fitter to fit it at your home, before you order mover check the depth of the chassis from the floor down,as some older vans have 6inch chassis and as far as i know at present only the Reich mover will fit that size of chassis( £900 - £1400) if chassis is deeper than 6inch all other movers should be ok,had to fit Rich mover to mine as only 6inch chassis a few years ogo and was £1250 then, but that was with motorized engager. hope this helps
