Member of both clubs here. We prefer the CC tho, since [IOHO] you know what your going to get when you get there. Also the CC sites are orderly and discilplined which suits us, given that most of the visitors to CC sites are fairly orderly and disciplined.
We stayed on a CCC site a few years ago, and it was pretty rowdy, but ok. So we sort of leaned to the CC sites after that.
Would Agree with the above , we have experienced rowdy tenters and caravanners swilling beer until 2am making lots of noise on a C&CC site during a BH weekend and the site managers were aware and did nothing .
At least on C.C site people tend to stick to the rules which makes a more enjoyable stay

We also cancelled our membership after writing to advise them that we would not be renewing as they make no provision for Senior Citizens or Caravanners who are self sufficient and do not require the EHU.
The reply was nothing short of pathetic which was not surprising.
We also cancelled our C&CC membership advising them of 'why', all we got back was a standard letter.
Sorry to come in so late on this on. It is like so many organisations, some members have nothing but good experiences others not so good. I think you just have to pay your money and take a chance!

Can I ask why? We would do the exact opposite as feel the CC booking system is a complete farce.
I to prefer the C.C although we are members both clubs some of C&CC sites are poor quality ranging from old toilet blocks and rough access roads at least with C.C you know what your getting if you look at some of the very latest C.C site in terms of ultra modern the very best C&CC sites do not come close to the quality .
And as for booking's we have never had any problem getting on our chosen sites .
Another issue we have had is rowdy drunk people on BH weekends on more than one occasion with the C&CC and the site managers were aware and did nothing .
Caravan club for us everytime
Members of both clubs for many years ... in fact was brought up on a diet of CC sites.
We prefer CC sites though have a couple of C&CC sites we use regularly (Dunbar and Lauder). The worst experience of any site we have ever stayed on was the C&CC site at Scone ... the site staff at the time were rude beyond belief.
If we could only afford one membership our money would go to the CC. We have never failed to book onto the sites we wanted, in fact the CC computerised system has been a pleasure to use this year even on 'opening day'.

like quite a few others the only reason we are in the c.c. is the cls, nothing else the booking system is a sham only tried to book one site by the time I got on the internet it was fully booked and after getting the new book I think I was seretly pleased as the prices are getting stupid.
We're members of both as well altho we've used mainly C&CC sites (must have dropped lucky with our choices & now have our 'favourites'). Regardless of site fee savings, what we save on breakdown cover with CC & insurance with C&CC more than covers the membership fees.

Attitude of wardens on C & CC sites. Most are jobsworths! I also dislike being told where I must pitch on a site. All their CS sites around our area are total rubbish!

Booking system for the C.C works fine for the majority and in December the new system they introduced only allowing members to make one site booking at a time worked very well .

This is the new post - for some reason it's in italics as well as the quoted post and I can't get it to come out in ordinary text:
Just to point out that we have had a bad experience of late night noisy revelries next to us on both a C&CC site and on a CC site (though in 25 years of camping that's not a bad record). Both Clubs are good in their own way and I'm not sure that one Club's staff are any better or worse at dealing with problems or how friendly they are. It's just down to pot luck and individuals. Just for the record in our cases the C&CC warden did actually go and talk with the people involved whereas the CC warden dismissed me with a "there's not a lot I can do about it they'll only deny it".
Ironically enough, we've never had any problems with drunk people on C&CC or CC sites, only private ones.
We have used far more C&CC sites as the booking system works for us, but since the change in the CC booking system we will be trying more CC sites this year. Experience of both very positive.
