Just tried to order the Argos one online but they are out of stock in all stores Thats a shame!
Pam - they have the same one on the B & Q website but it's more expensive. If you know someone over 60, they can get a discount card - not sure how much the discount card is for though. I'll be in the queue for mine come May.

Phil76 - I think if the Black & Decker doesnt come back in Argos for £29.99 then I will go for the Challenger in Argos too.
Thanks for that link David. Its £25 more expensive at B&Q though. I do have friends that could get me the discount at B&Q but might look around first. Would like to get one for the £30 mark or under as I will only need it to wind the legs.
What power is your Bosch Robin? Have seen Bosch for about £40 but the Volt seemed low.
Dont whatever you do go for a B & Q own make one I had it and it did not hold the charge at all - had to recharge after 4 steadies up and down and if you left it in the van for a long period of time it was dead.
I would go for one about the £30 mark and at least 14 or 18 volt. Currently got a Black and Decker one which is great.
you can make one of these for nothing, find an old socket that fits the leg nut, find a long thin nut and bolt that fits through it and bolt the two together very tight so as not to slip in use.make sure the bolt will fit your chuck on the drill.have used mine for years without a problem.the one i made is about 4 inch long.but some are set in a lot more.
bought one

Thanks for your reply Big Jim. I wanted a Black & Decker one. They had them in Argos half price at £29.99 but sold out before I got one.
Michael - what a fantastic idea! I have a box of old sockets so will check to see if any might be suitable to make myself one of those. I presume that it must have a hole through it to get the bolt through?
After a couple of cheapo ones (one Argos & one no idea where it is from) I use a 12v Black & Decker one. It holds it charge well and will work for about 3 trips away.

Pete
You took the words right out of my mouth Pete. Unless I'm missing something blindingly obvious I really can't understand why people have this 'thing' about using a drill to wind the corner steadies. If someone has arthritic hands or a chronically bad back then maybe, but otherwise - why???
If someone has arthritic hands or a chronically bad back then maybe,..............
or both or breathing problems where the exhaustion will set of an asthma attack, there are many reasons why.if movers and other aids were not available some would not be able to caravan.i can manage both methods but hate the winding down bit the long winded way.can not see the point when you do all four legs in 30 seconds with a drill.like to save myself for putting up a full awning.lol.

Why are you quoting those older posts Surfer01? Didnt you read the comments made after those?
Some people that use a cordless drill to wind the steadies find it too difficult to do by hand. Unfortunately we are not all 100% as fit as we used to be
