Great photos Woofers.

Good on you for sharing a gem of a site on ukcs.

Have to wait until little lard doesn't want to come with us before we can use it, but it looks lovely.

I know but that's not really the point I'm making is it ? Lots of us have found this 'little gem' and others like it but we don''t feel the need to publish pictures of them and then pubicise the name to thousands of others making it busy all the time so that we can't get into our 'little gem's' when we want ! I do a lot of research into where I go and part of the fun is discovering lots of lovely quiet sites. Please let others do the same and stop ruining our little gems for us !

Rant Over. Thank you for listening !

There was no need to be so rude and nasty.

I have managed to book another 4 times throughout the year, it wasn't difficult and only took an email to the site.

Might see you there....

If I can drop our daughter off with you (she adores dogs, but as both my wife & I work full time, it is not fair for us to have a dog), we can enjoy the site.

That is unless the disgruntled poster has block booked the site!!!!

Hi, Hope the post was posted jokingly, (If not), I thought caravan sites where for all, not just a few, and the less caravaner that know about a site, means less turnover for owner, which could result in site closure, and we all lose out. There are always Little Gems,as there is always wild camping,as quite a lot of caravaners on here do.

shirl250 - I think your post is extremely rude. A lot of us relative newbies are looking for recommendations from those that have been there and done that.   What gives you the right to claim ownership of certain sites? Surely you started off somewhere? i.e. how did you find out this site was a 'little gem'? Must have been through recommendation?

Anyway, don't wish to cause, or add to arguments, but my view is that this forum is in place to benefit the majority not play to the minority.

Happy camping/caravanning all.

Give a man a fish and he'll feed his family for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he'll sit around on a boat all day drinking beer!

Fantastic looking place but I have 2 questions

1. Can you fish there?

2. Is there a pub within staggering distance?

Yep you can fish there, here's the info  http://www.thornhilllakescaravanpark.co.uk/fishing.html

Not sure how far the pubs are but there are 4 in the village and the site is just outside the village, walkable I'd say...staggerable not sure

Hi hawlk, By the looks of things, there is plenty to eat and drink on site, all you need is a rod and a glass!!!
