The Provence is nice but I think that's an L shape lounge, really nice though, if I could buy another van ( hubby says no :p) I want a champagne, but that's side dinette.
The Provence is lovely, we're on our second. We had the series 5 first & that had the L shape lounge. Series 6 also had an L shape lounge. The series 7 Provence which we have now is Double dinette & is a cracking family van. We particularly like the proper shower cubicle in it.
Long bed at the front which is either a Double or two good long singles & a normal size double at the rear with a bunk over it if you need it. The rear room can be closed off by a solid folding door at night.
The van's great, it comes with an Al-Ko receiver & the ATC as standard. They weren't sold with the Al-Ko lock though, just the receiver. We had to buy the lock.

thanks Mrs UM, we have negotiated a price on a 2008 Ranger, just got to make our minds up now.
We can have a 2008 Ranger 500/5 with full service history, just been serviced for £8800. Thats from a dealer in Blackpool though, tried to buy the one in Brean with Northam Caravans thats on at £9995 and all they'll knock off is £95 so we told them to forget it.
Thats good news, Savanne - sounds a reasonable offer. Get the 6 year Bailey water ingress warranty transfered to you, providing annual services have been carried out according to Bailey expectations - check the service history - vans should have been serviced by a Bailey approved servicing dept annually within 6 weeks of the original date of purchase. It's really worth it - if there is any damp/bodywork/delamination issues then you should be covered. I'd check with Bailey first, before buying the van, rather than buy the van, find out that they won't transfer and that the van has some of the dreaded damp.
Hope it all works out.

well, after all that about a Ranger we've gone and bought a 2008 Lunar Zenith EB this afternoon. Its absolutely immaculate, has a full service history and still looks brand new inside and out. We have had to compromise on the front seats but it felt so right and we did spend ages in the van, made up the front bed and it will be fine. The front seats are a bit longer than the other 4 berth fixed beds we've looked at. It has a combined oven/grill but tbh coming from a tent and cooking on a cadac it suits us fine. We plan to buy a lightweight cheap microwave we can either use on the dresser opposite the kitchen or in the awning.
We very nearly went for the longer and heavier Series 6 Pageant Burgundy but OH wanted a lighter (its only around 1250 fully laden) and shorter van. We're having a mover, door flyscreen and directional digital aerial added. Best of all we pick it up on the 6th July so we can still go to Fforest Fields for my 40th birthday
We had a lunar Zenith, it was lovely, ok not all singing and dancing, but it's was light weight and really airy, you will love it.
Congrats :)

Hi Savanne. I'm so glad you are all sorted. Did you get it locally then? I thought Blackpool sounded like a bit of a hike, so if you've had from a retailer closer to home then it's closer to take it back if there's a problem. Let's hope that this one is good for a few years and free of any major problems. You deserve a bit of good luck after the last episode.
..... so.... Congratulations on your new van - a great birthday prezzie.
the dealer is 40 mins away so fairly local. The original owners had extra 240v sockets and an external bbq point so it really has everything we're looking for.
David, all I need to do now is decide what awning to buy. I was all set to buy the Fiesta til I saw the quality of the Rallypros yesterday. After buying the van there is very little money left in the pot for an awning so we have to get it right and buy wisely. Think I can feel a whole new thread coming on
Have spent the last half hour sorting out all the camping stuff we can sell to raise some money for an awning.

"Think I can feel a whole new thread coming on." Thought I could tell the signs. No doubt we'll be 'speaking later' then. I know what you mean about money. I'm making up a list of what we 'need' before going away for our 5 week jaunt. Change gas bottles, new awning /drinks fridge, longer extension lead, and.... fairy lights. Dear wife will go with fairy lights but is a bit anti flagpoles - so it's a bit of a compromise. You should be able to use some of your camping stuff in the caravan. Speak to you on your new thread.

Congratulations! It looks abosolutely gorgeous - love the colour scheme. And I can guarantee you won't have any of the 'issues' with this dealer you had with the last one.
just had the seller of the ebay GT60 offer us the van and all the bits for 10K. OH was sorely tempted but the van didnt have its annual service this March (was new in March 2010) so looking at Baileys terms and conditions the warranty is invalid as the service has to be done within 6 weeks.
Just told the OH in no uncertain terms we loved the Lunar and thats what we're sticking with.
Vanessa, Chris remembers you, I told him if it hadnt have been for your recommendation we would never have known he was there. They've hardly any vans left, nealry all sold. Got 10 arriving in the next couple of weeks to fill a now half empty yard!

Your are right to stear clear of the Ranger GT60 as with no service history the warranty would be definately be void.
I cannot understand people who spend Thousands of pound on a new van and then are to miserable to get them serviced .
give him a ring Vanessa, you never know your new van might be waiting for you! We met his wife today too, just like Chris- down to earth and easy to talk to. He was telling us how he goes over each van he buys very carefully and walks away from any bad uns! He even gave us an empty gas bottle and a lightweight one at that. We've just got to exchange it and pay for a refill and remember to take the van with us when we pick up the van. Despite being really busy and the van needing a mover and other bits fitted he still sorted it so we can pick the van up in 10 days so we can go away for my birthday. Dont think we could better service anywhere.
