Noffy ... not sure why it's so difficult for you to understand ...
as regards your last comments to me .... "the rainshould not dictate what we do or don't do. I fully respect your wanting to sit outside etc and all that but surely there's more to caravanning than that? Not only that but I am sure you will agree this pursuit is not a cheap one and again in my opinion having a caravan sitting doing nothing just because of the weather makes it an expensive hobby/pastime etc.
If your more than happy staying at home istead of having breaks away then I am genuinely pleased for you! Really I am".......
I'll have one last attempt at getting through to you that we generally don't stay at home instead of having breaks. As I already explained we generally simply re-schedule & go when the weather is drier.
( & yes there's more to caravanning than that & we make the most of it whatever the weather if it does happen to be bad when we're away. We even have been known to go away when it's raining - again I already said so ! )
It costs me nothing having my caravan sitting outside anyway btw

I am all for "freedom of speech"however, I get a bit cross when some forum members think they know better than everyone else and that their way is the only way. We are all different and enjoy different things...so please stop all the sniping and back biting and get on with the important stuff like having a life, choices and differences.

Hear hear ela 1. For my part I do apologise for the continuing bickering but I'm afraid I get a bit cross when people insinuate that we & others are strange / silly becuase we have do some things differently to them.

Oh dear I only said I was glad I decided to go lol
La-la yes DS slept in the awning , he said he was quite warm emphasis on quite!!!!
But definatley selling this van, it's fab and luxurious indeed, but we do miss the space of a 4 berth, and even if DS and ageing lab, stay at home again, it will be better for us as wouldn't have to even put the porch awning up if the weathers crappy. Will be easier for me to set up too when it's one of OH bad days.
Btw pee'ing down here now and blowing a Hooley, did think at one point my toy poodle was going to take off like a kite on our walk

I'm confused now Murano ( it's easily done mind you !) is this smaller new caravan van the one you're selling or is it the last bigger one ?
We are chuffed with our bigger one but waiting to get away in it - have had a few probs with 12volt system ( & OH not feeling so good the wet weather makes him hurt a lot more)

Right this caravan we have now is a two berth swift challenger, we bought this in march as kid say not coming anymore, so we sold the 4 berth lunar we had as I wanted end bathroom ( lunar had tiny side bathroom) and ease for hubby to move round in to wash change ect.
But now we realise that changing to a two berth isn't working out as planned a: kid now wants to come again b: need more room really, so the swift is up for sale , and will be looking for a 4 berth side dinette end bathroom, so if kid does come there is a bed for him, if he dosnt come we have more room , and we won't have to rely on the awning.
Does that make sense? Because I've just read it back and it dosnt to me lol lol
I recap, sold lunar bought swift, swift not working out as planned ,will sell swift, buy a 4 berth ( not sure what make yet) = better caravan experience Lol lol

Lol - well it does to me ! Makes perfect sense actually Murano, I reckon I'd do exactly the same as you. Now that we have a bigger caravan we're able to leave beds up at one end permanently made up which will make things so much less hassle. As you say if it does rain & you can't / don't want to put the awning up at least you've got more room for all the wet stuff when you're inside, and it feels a bit less claustrophibic.
Never mind you'll get the right van next time ! ![](https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley4.gif)

Can't imagine us ever having a two birth, even when there are only the two of us (at the moment there are three of us, but going up to four for one week of our holiday - eldest daughter joining us). I reckon we might always need a guest bed (got to be prepared!) - and when there are only two of us it will just be the right size - and we do like our fixed bed.
.....by the way, it's stopped raining and the sun is trying to make a break through. ![](https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley4.gif)

I looked at the fixed beds David and i thot they took up room, what i mean is you cant put it away,it justs sits there taking up space.Good point is when youve had a tipple you just fall on top of it..well i would anyway..Another point is, it makes the living room quarters small but i guess it suits some people and others it dosent..rain here very heavy last night and this morn, none since 6ish but dull.

Jeff the thing that's a distinct advantage in our book about the fixed bed ones is that if you both want to sleep in the same bed at least you can get in & out without one person having to crawl over the top of the other one.
OH & I looked at a fair few caravans recently & I think there were a few layouts with fixed bed where the living quarters were pretty big. I think there's a lot more to choose from now than there used to be.
Our caravan doesn't have a fixed bed but we don't intend to ever put it away anyway so it's no real advantage that it's not fixed ! We still have a very roomy living area but just a smallish side loo. Don't care much about the loo being `wee' (sorry !) though.
