emptying the bottom tank especially after a curry and ale night

putting the van back on the drive, okay when I can get my mate jim to give me a push as he is a fellow race marshal so shoving cars and caravan is no bother. when folk toot horns my usual response is "aye your horn works pal, either shut to  up or get of your arse and give us a hand". surprising how many get out and lend a hand

Not a pre-holiday house cleaner...... gives me something to do while washing machine is busy once returned.....

I caravan just me n my two kids, so have to shout 'help' on our return as driveway requires two sets of biceps for caravan to enter........ that's a pain...

Other than that the main thing I hate is COMING HOME AGAIN.....

Well, It's consoling to know that I;m not the only one who gets stressed preparing to go away for a big holiday.  We're off on Sunday afternoon, so you can imagine what things are like at the moment.

Me too and I'm off Sunday as well. But I don't clean the house overly, I can always do that on a rainy day when I get back!

By the time everything is in and packed, I've hitched up and all that, I'm usually ready for a lie down, not a drive! LOL!!

My least favourite job is cleaning the outside of the van - no sooner done than its dirty again, just like painting the forth bridge

Preparation?  What preparation?  According to OH, I just throw a bag of food and some clothes into the van while he's at work!

The fact that Ive found the site in the first place, made the phone calls, booked the cattery, cleaned the house and the van prior to departure, washed, ironed, shopped, packed, researched the route and the local area and printed it all off, cooked cakes and at least one meal in advance, and made a picnic for the journey (phewww!) just passes him by......

Coming home is more of the same, but in reverse.

Oh yes, and I hate all of the above!

You've hit the nail on the head there. Thats exactly what OH thinks!!!

my biggest pet hate, when on tin tent trips, is the idiot that just has to pass you on the narrowest of roads, then cuts back in front of you into the safe gap you've left between you and the car in front and jumping on the brakes cos he's pulled back in too fast and too close

apart from that i love every aspect of tin tenting, cos apart from finding and booking our preffered site ,the OH doe's all the ground work, my bit comes when we get where we're going

no tin tent outings booked as yet ,just another cruise in Sept' booked so far

As my Mother used to say 'the housework will still be there when you've gone, so no rush' I don't do housework before i go. Only thing i don't like is setting up and taking down awning/tent in the rain

Hi, same here, once they see caravan moving on its own they are quite happy to watch it, as its manuvered into and up the drive, Must be a boys toy thing.

My hubby thinks that the caravan fairy must come in and do it all!!! He says oh yeah caravanning is great just chuck a few things in hitch and go!!!!! If that was the case he would have nothing to eat drink or wear , we would starve, , dogs would starve , we'd die of thirst ect ect lol

What a bunch of whingers! I caravan by myself, pitch up by myself etc etc. What I have noticed is that most campers take far too much gear with them. They struggle for two hours to put up an awning and they are only there for the weekend. I saw one man with three spare tires in the back of his X-Trail and he only lived just 50 miles away!!!!!!!! One last thing, why do people carry the extra weight of a spare gas bottle when every campsite I`ve ever been on sells gas?

That's great jocko, I'm glad for you, but you caravan by yourself most of us take a partner and kids with us, so travelling without certain things can't be done, if you are feeding 4 people imagine that in food clothes ect!
