After a quick Google it seems your problem probably lies within your water heater , please read the above link , it is very detailed regarding `rotten egg` smells in water heaters and pipework .

Hi Alan & thanks for that link. It's an interesting article that & helpful for this problem I've got. After reading it, it seems it's not from the water heater in my own case as I've not had the water heater on & it's actually just the cold water I've been running.
From what the article says it certainly sounds like it's sulphur bacteria in the water system causing my problems though.
It seems to be further evidence to there being lurking water (most likely in the pipes I'd say) that's gone stagnant. The caravan is really listing to one side - after using the tap the water in the kitchen sink doesn't drain away on it's own - I have to `chase it' with my hands down the plug hole ! I think I'll get Mr La-la to shift it a.s.a.p then flush everything through again with one of the proprietary treatments.
