We have recently started doing the same (glad it's not just us!) as I don't sleep as well as OH, I'm always up during the night and get up earlier than him. This way I don't disturb him too much. However I must admit that after a couple of nights in the van, I do get back ache and this was the same when we made up the front double (we have a 4 berth side dinette). Perhaps memory foam would help me, either the duvalay or just the single size topper?
We have two duvets, used to use one under and one over, now roll up in one each!
