ikea cotton ones are great, as you can just put them in the washer, they do take a fair bit of drying tho
and yes we have took out carpet up that came with the caravan, I have no idea what elddiss where thinking when they put cream coloured carpets in a caravan! shows every bit of much and mud going, so before they got ruined we took them out and gave them a good clean and are now stored under our bed at home
We get our house carpets from Howkel Carpets in Huddersfield.
I don't know if they still bind off-cuts which could be used as runners, but we got one a few years ago. I'm pretty sure they'll cut to your specs. They are an excellent firm and the boss aims to please. (No connection, just a satisfied customer)

My solution is two beach towels sewn together. There's about 5cm gap each side between the benches, they don't ruck up or walk, and stretch to the bedroom area. With 2 hairy hounds and OH it works for me. Just bung it all in the washer on return.
I just bought a roll end and had them cut and whipped from the original to match this year's colour scheme
£55 for a full set, probably do the same next year too.
