Like I've previously stated, this forum is very much the Caravan Club Appreciation Society, so there's little point saying anything against them.
I've had my experiences with the club, their sites & many of their members. That was enough for me.
We all look for something different in our caravan holidays. Personally I much prefer to use my own toilet & shower in the 'van, so facilities are of little consequence.
I'm glad we're not all the same, but I do feel like independent sites get run down far too often on these pages, so therefore I feel it's important to provide a balanced view.
I was also under the impression most club site showers were now push button? TBH I've only ever come across one independent site with push button showers, but that was when I was tenting, so had to use site facilities.
(also, you CC members are far too easy to wind up - the wink emoticon means I'm joking, of course)
Push Button Showers are the trait of the C&CC NOT the C.C
but then that does not bother you since your happy to lug water back and forward so you can shower in your own van not all of us want to do that
And if site's with JUST acceptable facility's are all you want that your prerogative , but some of us have higher standards and expect better .
perhaps you could enlighten us why your Anti-Club or is it the the rules and regulation's which are in place for everyone's benefit that you dislike .

When will the caravan club sort out last minute cancelations? It is driving me mad, we looked to try to stay at Sheepcote for this weekend (as Wife is at a party in brighton on the saturday night and then a nice dayout for sunday)
for the last 2 weeks they have been fully booked, we even called up and the wardens were surprised to see that they woudl be fully booked.
So we have had to make other arrangements, and not go camping, but i have been watching the availability twice daily for the last 2 weeks, and low and behold now, at 4:30pm they have availablilty for the whole weekend - bit late to travel now as I cancelled my half day today instead of going home to pack and go.
I am furious, and this isn't the first time, i know it's a Tactic to go on and book all the good sites and then cancel if the weatehr is not nice, but it's ridiculous. and The caravan CLub lose out.
The need to introduce cancellation fee's, or even pay up front.
I know they are warning people with a couple of strikes and then your warned etc, but will that change anything?
Why are you presuming it was a cancellation. Somebody could easily have left early and made the pitch vacant.
Stop moaning about the Club. If you don't like the system then leave. Suits me!
