Which month's mag are we talking about. We have already received the January 2013 mag., and I can't find this survey - which page is it on? I don't think it going on line would find much favour. periodically, for whatever reason, the high cost of the printed mag. has been aired. So, if it did happen, I think members would expect a healthy reduction in annual subscription fees. My wife dislikes computers, so she wouldn't be happy! And on line browsing isn't quite as effective as flipping back and forth through the mag. Imagine having to boot up and sign in every time you want to refer to an article you are interested in. Yuk! Also, I understand that the Club has bought Camping Cheque; I was told this by the Travel Service rep when enquiring about ferries and camping cheques for 2013. Depending on profits from this venture, could future subs. be raised to fill the gap in any shortfall? If so, that would hardly be fair on those members who don't go abroard, would it? Bertie.

I have a Mac, iPad iPhone and a PC at my office but I still love my caravan magazines. Finding a comfy chair with a fresh coffee and a magazine is a different more relaxing experience for me than looking at a screen..

Prefer it on an Ipad. We might get less adverts and letters that are not continually praising the Club!

Hope they don't assume the whole world has an I-whatever. I much prefer to read my magazine in the bath, and PCs/Macs/tablets/phones and water don't mix!

Just to explain a bit more, you have to sign up to the Member Research Panel - you'll find a link to it after you sign in to the My Club page. They email you every month or so with an invitation to do an online survey.

Ah, well, it isn't in the offing then, in my opinion. Before any serious consideration for this move was taken, it would certainly be aired as print in the magazine itself. There are so many members who simply don't rely on getting significant information via the Internet; even those who use the Internet. I very much doubt that decisions via this method would be well received. Bertie.

I prefer paper magazine to email versions. I completedthe form, and it will be interesting to see how many are like minded. I have a suspicion it will go email and hard copy,, then you will have to opt for the hard copy until eventually it becomes uneconomical to produce a pere copy. However, should the magazine go it will not be a loss. There is little of real interest in it. Car and caravan reviews are limited in scope and rarely give the full picture. The other bits and articles are candy floss in nature. However the letters page is always a hoot. The writers-inrerrerrs cannot be serious as Mr. Mc would say.

I was pleased to see that I am not the only member to have reservations about the value of the magazine and its contents.I have also long felt that the Club has more interest in commerce than the service to its members.I cant recall an adverse caravan test report in the magazine. When I asked the Club why they did not mention in the magazine a particular problem (known to the Club) with safety issues on the Bailey Valencia, I was told "To identify a few models as problematic when we don't know if the same issue affects other makes and models would hardly be fair."
I also asked why the same model had not been tested by the Club or used in the Tow Car of the Year tests. This would have been helpful to members. I was told that only vans submitted by manufacturers were used. They may be right to claim that they can't test all vans but I am sure they could find a better way.
From this I think you to deduce that being fair to manufacturers takes a higher priority than member safety.Secondly, all vans tested will be OK as the problem ones are not put foreward for testing.I assume that this is all about advertising revenue and the magazine

Here here misterg.
It seems that the vast majority of posts here prefer the magazine, I hope that the CC listen to all their members before making a decision - but wait - it's the CC we are talking about!!

Not just the Caravan Club - I've just completed what appears to be a very similar survey (organised by Questback) regarding Camping and Caravanning magazine, indicating my preference for a paper copy.
