I'm sure if the Traffic Wardens were bothered they'd find some law to enable them to take action.

In reality it's tucked round the back by a canal and it's hardly spoiling the view or lowering the tone of the neighbourhood.

Let's be crystal clear about this issue first that whatever the case may be, the law IS in fact different in Scotland to that of England and Wales even though some would like to contradict this point without the provision of any evidence. When I commented on my first post I used the word 'probably' which means that I don't actually know the full facts, however, to prove my point, if you know anyone with a disability Blue Badge then read the details of parking guidelines for proof. It states that in England and Wales you can park on double yellow lines up to a period of 3 hours but in Scotland there is no restriction, in other words you can legally park 24 hours around the clock. This however proves my point that there is actually a difference in the laws of the land so there's obviously a constructive reason as to why these traffic wardens are reluctant to submit a penalty notice to the caravan owner. If the penalty notice would be illegal under the current Scottish law then the caravan owner could summons a court hearing and not only be offered compensation but also humiliate the local council in court during the process. This however would then be published in the newspapers leading to many touring caravan owners avoiding storage fees and so then the council have a bigger problem to deal with in the long term. The solution here is to talk to the caravan owner to avoid any future problems and this is exactly what they are doing which after all makes sense.

I dont think this guy has just parked up this van, he knows what hes doing by knowing the law.I think its a scream parking it outside a traffic wardens headquarters knowing they cant do a thing about it..it must really get up their noses as they do ours.

Tango on the part of parking on yellow lines here(blue badge holders) you can UNLESS there is a sign saying otherwise and there usually is like,no loading or unloading or,yellow stripes on the kerb.Their famous for putting up a very small sign on a lamp post about 20 miles where your going to park

I don't think anyone has has tried to contradict the point at all, in fact quite the reverse, most have made the point that the law may be different in Scotland!

How is it that local authorities seemingly have the right to make up parking rules on OUR roads anyway. It seems strange that we have to pay to park on the roads that we already pay for. It cannot be safety that is foremost, otherwise blue badge holders would not be able to park on yellow lines, could it be revenue raising? Surely not.
