Its ready for road, all tyres are good, bearings and brakes.
I put it up for 1200 as I was looking for 1000.

I've serviced my self, its a very basic set up, visual check of shoes, physically check bearings, adjust brake if needed, its a twenty year caravan, and by the look of things worth under five hundred pounds, I'm not going to spend a couple of hundred haveing it inspected, serviced etc etc if that what it takes to sell it, well its not worth selling.
You wouldn't buy something for five hundred expecting to sell if for six and spend a week working on it would you.
No sod it, I will try on last time after holiday and then brake it. I could just let it go for pennies but I hate the idea of some chancer on eBay buying it for pennies. If I knew it was going to a good home maybe but not eBay.

Why not Ebay. Are we users all scumbags?? It is up to you where you sell it but please don't categorise everyone on ebay as chancers.

Look I am pretty new here so tell me to shut my trap of you like bit I think everyone on this thread is being over sensitive. I think it's a bit silly to suggest a full service on a van that might possibly only be worth £500, that's just throwing money in a money pit and if the can just isn't saleable in the region of what lunarvenus has hoped shaving even more money off the return is foolish really?

Lunarvenus you seem to have a really dim view of eBay. I can only assume you've been stung before or heard stuff about the cruddier goings on that happen. We bought our caravan on eBay, we had no problems at all its a 1992 lunar Venus (funnily enough) and we paid a lot or than a grand for it because it was clean and included everything we needed to get started.

I hope you have better luck next time you list it. Have you read tips on best times to list and end your auction? And I agree with ther posters that good pics really make a difference. Make it look really smart and if possible take a pic with a very very nice car near it (yes really!) this tip sells houses so I think it applies for caravans too. Makes people think they are buying into something worth having if someone with a proper nice car loves it then its not just an old beast it is a cherished vintage [:-)]

Mads I like your thinking.
I don't mind eBay I have bought and sold lots on there over the years it just annoyes me when you get chancers emailing you all the time etc etc. I don't think eBay is as good as it use to be.
I am going to get some nice photos etc, I will give it a good clean and polish, put the awning up and set it out nice with a table in awning etc.
I think rather than spend money I will spend some more time next time.
I'm not spending money as its not worth it. Maybe a little tempter like, if the van reaches a good price I will pay to have it serviced. It would have to be a good price though.

I just sold a 2 berth 1991 swift Challenger on Ebay we had been told it was only worth £100 as scrap due to there being a leak and very spongy floor. I started it off at £130 which was the £100 we could get for scrap and the selling costs etc for ebay when the auction ended the van went for £465. I put pictures on showing the outside and inside and listed all the faults it had along with the good points

Although you do have to keep an eye on who's bidding as I had to cancel 1 bid as the guy had bid and won 3 caravans in the last 3 weeks and never made contact or paid/picked them up.

That's good to know , so in reality, mine is worth a bit more than people are saying.
Its all down to the market I guess.

Good spotting with that bider. I will try advertising privately first then eBay last.

It all depends on what people want to pay for your caravan and see some pictures of the inside and outside how long is a piece of string..

Don't get me wrong I can afford to let it go cheap or sell parts and scrap it but I really want to sell it for what its worth and someone enjoy it like we did.

By the way its a ,

A.B.I Daystar Award. 1992, 2 birth. Full pyramid awning with annex (didn't advertise the annex before), water drums and hook up lead included.

What do you think its worth in good condition.??

There is one on Ebay and the starting price is £400 and they have one bid on it and there is roughly 4/5 days left to go . This what you need to do a starting price and a reserve price then you let it go .
Good Luck ....

Don't know where you are located, but just wondering if you are somewhere remotish which is putting people off travelling to see van. If you had good friend or relative who could sell van for you. Or at least put it at theirs so that more people would see it. Good luck
