Hi andyfisher, yes we intend on staying in it up there for 2 nights to see how we get on and because we can't wait any longer heehee. As we live a distance from Venture we thought it best as did they, so that if we needed any help or assistance, they would be on hand. Venture are sooooo nice arn't they I can understand fully the wishing the time away....we've waited so long now just to be able to get the caravan, so not going to miss an opportunity to not stay in her....i'd be gutted, more so even LOL. Wow 6 trips already, that's great going. Shows have valuable owning a caravan can be doesn't it...you get to holiday more often and that's what we like the sound of....especially coming from a tent heehee. Loved our tent, don't get me wrong (only been camping since 2010 as i am usually a hotel geek, although had camped when a child myself) Thought it would be a great experience for our son and we were right, he loved it. Fresh air, the smell of bbq's and sizzling bacon, raindrops on the tent at night....lovely. Just got a bit fed up of putting it up in the rain and then taking it down. Once it was up it was brilliant. Can remember one time those in the vans looking at us trying to take our tent down in the wind and rain....probably hoping our tent didn't take off and blow in their direction lol. Although saying that, one of the caravaners saved our porch...and that's another story
Oh gosh shelley, you've been in the wars (((HUGS))) Glad you still got the chance to go down to her, we wouldn't be able to due to us placing her on a seasonal pitch, i'd be gutted. Saying that, i fell over Weds last and my leg looks like its been driven over by a bus....got me worried due to our plans this week. Luckily today its been feeling better, although to look at it you wouldn't think so. Nothing is stopping me from getting caravan....even if i have to hobble about like a penguin lol. Hope your back gets better quick smart, its not nice i know (((HUGS)))

Are you staying at the certificated site just down the road from venture? We were the only ones there last October. We changed from the tent or same reason, but yes, we loved being in the tent once it was up. Last straw for OH was 5 inches of snow and power cut in tent easter 2012! 😳⛄Cos we stared with the van in October, it has been odd the last two times not to need heating and be able to have the door open etc! Plus we have had an awning last 3 times. Having the van extends the season. Next trip soon to Pickering, then a long trip in summer down o Cornwall 😊

Good luck for tomorrow Appleby10, hope you enjoy yours as much as we are ours. Ours is practically a vintage model at 2 years old compared to all these new shiny ones being ordered!
Gradually doing some mods as we go along to make it our own. Main one was to sort out the front bed issue where the small; lip of about 12/15mm made one side of the bed uncomfortable, which seems to be a common issue on the DT

Hi Appleby
Copied and pasted from my posting elsewhere:-
All sorted!
a. Two foam square tiles from Aldi each side on seat boards (cost £12.99 for pack of 6 - thanks Tintop!). The can stay there permanently now as the effect of raising the seat cushion by approx 1cm simply means seat is more comfy for taller people!
b. 5 x 90cm long by 12cm wide and 12mm thick softwood slats from our local woodyard cut to size £6
Result flat sleeping area now to be finished by a 3" thick memory foam topper from ebay (4ft 6 wide) for £42 delivered from sleep king ebay shop inside a double duvet cover
Result:- One extremely comfy flat bed

Andyfisher, I'm sooo jealous! Lol, Pickering and Cornwall we will be lucky to snatch a few weekends away and hopefully 6 nights up Whitby way in August. That's all our finances are going to stretch to at the mo as we went to Florida in Feb. money permitting, we would like to do France next summer. If money is a bit tighter we are going to do Cornwall on a tight budget
Sunshinetours, we need you and your "vintage" lol, for all the tips and hints you give, having used yours over the past couple of years. It's the people like yourself and Wizzo who make this forum what it is.
Appleby, my sister recommended a TENS machine to me. I went and got one and its a godsend......... I would have never thought it would be so effective, would recommend one to anyone who has ongoing pain of any sort. Hope your leg is up and running as normal soon, pardon the pun try arnica for the bruising it really does work, I took it after having Flynn 2 years ago and I'm sure it helped looking forward to your update over the weekend as I'm sure you will be far too busy drooling over your lovely van to come on here, I know I was hahaha! I've just rung and booked us in to our local site for Friday and Saturday, I've got serious withdrawals so looking forward to it. Apparently we are sharing the site with lots of big motor homes, hoping to have a nosey are you sure you can't extend your first outing and come join us make it a 4 night trip be a devil, you know you want to

Appleby10: The site was whilton lodge. It had electric hook up. Only about 5 pitches. No toilets or showers so you can test your van! Enjoy it!

Halloooooooooo......we are back....sad but true. We picked up our beloved on Wednesday and its just been a wonderful experience. Dave spent hours showing hubby around everything and how everything works....me and my bad foot/leg had to put up with just sitting in the van can't believe how frustrating it is to get something that you can't do anything with due to naughty, daft, stupid injuries. Had to put up with that feeling during most of the time we were there until i went to the hospital A&E yesterday (SAT) to be given antibiotics as one of my baddies had developed an infection Still, i did get to faff around in the van once she was parked as didn't have to put up with shoe pressure haahaaaa. Oh what fun Spent 2 nights at Wilton Lodge, so yes andyfisher, we stayed at the same park...and do you know....we were the only one's there as well HAAAHAAAA. It was great, at least no one got to see me hobble around lol. Son got to play outside as well and as it was during the hot spell we had a lovely time. Went down for a meal at the New Inn, sat outside by the lock and watched the canal boats go by Glad to report that just using our mattress topper that we found no problem with the levelling on the front seating that makes the double bed. Hubby slept nearest the window and found it comfortable with no obvious effects of the drop in height. I found the bed to be firm but comfortable with the topper added and so no back aches for us i'm pleased to say. I do think a topper is a good idea as it does make the bed more comfortable but at the same time it will help keep the wearing on the upholstery at bay. Visited Venture everyday we were there as we were waiting for some bits to come in and on each occasion there were Adria hand-overs. The last day saw us drive in with our Sporty and there was a couple with a little-one going around there new purchase.....awwww....they saw us with ours and we all had big smiles on our mugs heehee. Then it was time to leave Northampton and so took a long drive down to Newquay in West Wales, where we un-hitched her onto her new home (Seasonal Pitch) and we got to stay for another 2 nights. Took some piccies, have uploaded a small few, but will upload more in due course.

Oh and on the drive down to Newquay, i believe when we got to Carmarthan, the hitch lock started to creak....really loudly...when going around the roundabouts or sharp corners We ended stopping a few times to see what was going on and couldn't find anything....got to the site and hubby released the stabiliser and the noise stopped....hubby phoned Dave and he said it sounds like dirt has got into it and to clean it by sanding it down etc. Hope that works as the sound was awful....
A few photos

Congrats love the pictures!
Try some emery cloth on the tow ball to ensure you have no paint/dirt still on it (is it new?) and clean out the stabiliser hitch head pads with brake cleaner fluid

The tow ball should be clear of any paint or residue for an Alko stabiliser hitch then. Clean the pads aswell as the paint may have tarnished the pads already.
Give your dealer a quick call if not sure, as sure they will suggest the same!

Same as others have said, make sure you sand all the black paint off your tow bar ball. It clogs the head up, Did Venture hitch it up for you? Surprised they didn't tell you to be honest.
The alko stabiliser requires a clean bare metal tow ball to work properly. Glad you love your Adria, we love ours too :-)
