I've personally had people tell me about poor service of other Caravan Dealers, not generally mentioned on here, and also praise for those very same ones. Th same with Car Dealers and Car Manufactures.

Until there is a proper independent dealer rating system, and the same for Caravan manufacturers, the truth will always be tinted, by personal experience.

Look at car reliability surveys, one member on here was brave enough to buy a Dacia, which is made in Romania and uses Renault parts, as that company owns Dacia.

Another member came on and slated Dacia, why because they were manufactured in Romania, owned by Renault and are cheap as chips. Yet the truth is they are rated higher for reliability in Germany, than top end German Car Manufactures. Costing close to £1000,000 for some models. Also the person who slated the Dacia, was all for another companies models, yet that company has a lower reliability rating. And there is a Korean companies product, which can match the performance in like for like situations.

Horses for courses as the saying goes. Some wil lget good service, others poor. But using posts on a forum, as a base line, does not compute, because it is not a unbiased like for like base line. Quantifiable proof should be used.

Oh ok let's not bother then! Isn't chatting about experiences good or bad what a forum is all about?!
Anyway there is a review web page for caravan dealers although surprisingly Glossops come out rather well on it so like you say probably not accurate

I do notice there are no come backs from Glossop re my comments not that it matters as I wouldnt buy from them anyway so they are losing nothing .

What they really need to do is employ a secret shopper as a lot of their problems are bravado based by staff showing off to their colleagues by arguing or ignoring customers .(mainly male I admit ) .

Everyone has good and bad experiences . Mine are purely down to staffs cockiness and nothing to do with caravans themselves .

Go and see . If you get the staff on a good day (usually when a big boss is there watching them ) brilliant . Go if the footy is on or they are comparing facebook utube posts then forget it .

Exactly Caldan that was our experience, when Man U were playing, the language alone was enough to put you off!

We have had problems with Glossop Caravans service centre.  Having taken our 12 month old van in for a service, which incidentally was free of charge due to damage caused to a worktop prior to ddelivery, we received it back with internal damage having been done.  Finally they agreed to a repair but more or less accused us of having done the damage ourselves!!  On collecting our van another couple were also having problems as they said their van had been damaged.  Certainly wont be using their service centre again and would advise that other people do the same.
