well we have been away 4 times in the new van, both just 2 up and all 5 of us.
Great van, clever layout. Some minor ailments all sorted now with switches or the like caused mainly by loose screws, all now tightened.
Only real issue is the main front bed is too firm for us, so a 3 inch memory foam topper has been bought and its great BUT very bulky (we store it on one of the fixed bunks)
Love the bigger beds, wider van and clever ventilation.
------------- if your not living life on the edge your taking up tooo much room
Thanks I bought one and the caravan dealer told me it was 00, first time buying a caravan so bought off a dealership, 2nd night in caravan and it rained, all bed ruined rain pored in to the caravan, not getting anywhere with the dealership I bought it from, payed 3200 euro
I have gotten onto a solicitor, I'm waiting for him to get back to me, as I asked the owner for my money back and he said no way, I will get onto trading standards as well thanks very much, lesson learned the hard way for me, should have taken someone with me to look at the caravan. Just thought that with it being from a caravan dealership that everything would be perfect with it and took the owner at his word
It was the owner of the dealership that I bought it off, all this caravan stuff is new to me, so I don't have a clue. Should have stuck with my tent :)
I have never bought a British made van since the 90's had a LMC two Geist's and now on my second year in a Adria Adora 1700k single axle which is same as the 642 up,
The fridge is huge and automatic will change to gas if electric fails or vicer versa the heating is gas/electric as well as the water heater.
My only dislike is the toilet soil tank has to be removed in the awning. The shower is the largest I have ever seen in a van.
I can have a proper island bed or two singles with no cut off's, the black outer skins on the windows give you complete privacy except when you have a light on at night and storage you cant fill it.
The gas locker is also very large and very easy to get to large bottles in as well as spare wheel.
If the front/side bed is made up you end up with a bed 6.6ftx 6ft
The van has 15" wheels yet van is lower than the last three vans which had 14" wheels which gives less air drag and more stability when towing.
Ps Adria made a model in the 90's which was electric only and did not have a battery, so you always had to site with EHU though it did have some 12volt for lighting and water pump, came with fridge box and electric hot plates (2)
Hi After ongoing issues with damp in our Bailey we are considering buying an Adria. We would appreciate any feedback from owners particularly re ? any damp issues
Damp and Adria aren’t usually seen in the same sentence. We’ve owned one ourselves and they are well made and without issues. That said we didn’t have any issues with our Bailey and we haven’t yet with our Sterling.
Thank you for info we are keen to get info from people who own Adria caravans. We have heard good reports, but like to have feedback from owners.
Our Bailey Unicorn is a nightmare, four services on and damp each time, damp now all around the van which includes where previously had warranty work completed, the last time less than six months ago.
