Re my recent post about getting away. I think when the Club sites open it will be ok, and safe to have a caravan break. The Caravan Club, I feel, will take steps to make members and staff safe.
Both Caravan Clubs have been busy taking bookings for July and August, although they may restrict capacity.
I think my plan to stay near home and be self sufficient is acceptable.
In anything we do in life , there will be “what ifs”, judgements have to be made or one would not have a life.
We have decided that we would not go to the coast, B &Q , Garden Centres, Aldi, Lidl, or any local shopping centre etc.
We walk in the park and locally and I cycle a bit.
Shop once a week.
I think we are sensible.

I appreciate that this is the caravan and caravanning section of the forum, but you do realise that the "Caravan Club" is actually the "Camping and Caravanning Club"?

Sorry if I'm being a bit pedantic, but the Caravan Club is now the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Camping and Caravanning Club is the other club.

I stand corrected but the point was that at least one of the Club is for tenters as well!!

The other thing that worries me is that when we are eventually allowed to legally pursue our hobby again (be it caravan, motorhome or tent), how welcoming are certain UK tourist spots going to be? I mean to cast no aspersions here but there are certain areas popular with us lot that have been fairly vociferous of their dislike for our ilk. I can't see this current situation improving their view of us and it could make our long awaited summer(?) holidays quite uncomfortable.

Being one of the "locals who dislike your ilk", I can assure you that this dislike is aimed squarely at those who assumed that the lockdown never applied to them, and they could merrily trundle off to anywhere they want because they are "self sufficient" and "won't cause any harm".
Those of you who have diligently waited until sites can legally re-open are totally different - when sites can finally officially re-open, then it will be a sign to all of us that we are starting to get back to near normal, and you will be welcome again (well, the sensible ones, anyway).
Here's wishing you all good health and happy camping/caravanning/motor-homing/static staying in the not too distant future.

We are booked on a site in Cromer in July. I doubt we will b going as I don’t think the locals want us down there so early.

I get the feeling this years caravanning season isn't going to happen. I think the absolute soonest the lockdown will fully be over is when a vaccine is available, and that's not for at least another four months (as far as the news is telling us)

I think that is most likely right, unfortunately. In my own mind I have written it off anyway.

Still, with this fabulous weather I have spent most of the morning in the garden. Lying on my sun-lounger if I shut my eyes I could have been in Spain or Greece. Only really came in for some lunch and to cool off a bit. And to cool our dog down. He never wants to be far from us, and he was lying in the sun panting furiously.

Tomorrow is forecast to be even hotter!

I am not paying 3k for 2 weekends away. If the govt aren’t going to open campsites, they can damn well give me my 3k back and the payments for the caravan that I have unable to use. It is absolutely ridiculous that this has gone on this long, yet you can cram into trains or buses and head off to workplaces where social distancing is literally impossible. A vaccine may never be found so have we just to abandon our expensive assets forever?

It is alright for some folks...I managed about 10 minutes on my patio and then had to come indoors to cool off. What is the government going to do about that then...far too hot!!! Can I get compensation for sunburn?
