We have an x-trail dci 2.2 I have found that I have lost power with it when trying to get onto the dual carriageway, this has happened twice, the second time I stopped the engine and started it again and it has been fine ever since. Puzzling!!

We previously owned a 2.2 dci x-trail which had the same problem, turns out that the fuel pump was faulty causing the ecu to go into "limp home mode". This could be reset by pulling over and switching off the ignition which reset the ecu allowing full power.

Took the car to nissan who replaced the fuel pump under warranty which took two days. I think the cost was approx. £1500 if the vehicle was not covered under warranty.

The Nissan dealership also advised that this was not an uncommon fault.

OH had this conversation with Nissan they quoted  £2,000 for a new turbo. Lucklily OH is a car dealer so when the car goes wrong we will simply replace it. Shame cos I quite like the Nissan.
