Thanks Daniel, will probably discuss this at some length with my mate tonight, I e-mailed him this topic and he phoned me soon after full of enthusiasm, up till now he either came over to a meet as a day visitor or hired a Mobile home or chalet, this could prove to be the best option for him without having to change his big car for a motorhome, which was the other idea we were toying with. The latter would need a nice windfall on the lottery first!

It states on most of them to fit most caravans does this also include older vans? I have been looking for one for a windrush 1983. Have measured it up as advised but the measurements when looking at awnings are width, depth etc I was only informed to measure round the caravan so how do I know what will be of any use?

You need to measure the height of the caravan, from the awning rail above the door, to the ground. Then make sure if fits between the height limits given for the particular awning you are looking at.

Hi there

We got our easi porch a couple of weeks ago and are putting it to the test this weekend. Now just bear in mind that we are new to caravanning and not wanting to look like plonkers when we try and put this up we have got the awning spread on our living room floor as we speak trying to fathom how this goes up! All seems pretty straight forward but please tell us what is the small pole with the plastic clip is for?

Thanks

Debbie

The plastic clip should fold up, and the bar will then extend to full length ( it's telescopic ) . Fold it back down to lock it.

The bar then goes in the roof of the awning, along the middle, to provide support.

Does that make sense?!
Cheers
Ian

Thank you...

The middle section was pushed right in and has just been coaxed out with a pair of long nosed pliers!!  We are now set for the weekend.

Looking for a new porch awning after my Scenic ripped (in a fairly light wind) at the awning rail in Buxton last September and one of the poles scratched the side of my van.

I would ideally like something a little more robust and roomier as we go away alot for weekends in Autumn and Spring when it can be windy.

Has anyone used the Easi-porch yet? - it looks stronger that the Scenic? any pictures of it in burgundy available yet?

Thanks - Tony

Hi Tony
I've had the EasiPorch up in pretty strong weather and it stands up beautifully. The design makes it much stronger than the Scenic type awnings. The frame along the front pulling back from the van makes it pretty solid, and you can tension it just right using the storm straps provided if necessary.

Plus, as it doesn't have any poles going back to the van, you don't have any of the problems such as you experienced with the Scenic poles scratching your van.

We haven't got any pictures up yet of the burgundy Easi Porch, but it's the pretty much the same colouring as the image above of the Porchlite.

Hope that helps,
Ian

Hi All

Just got back from a trip where our Outdoor Revolution Easi Porch Awning was used for the first time. Overall we reckon this is excellent kit. It tool high winds and torrential rain with no ill effects to it or the van.

Easy to put up (5 mins is accurate) and the extra space is liberating (we are 2 abults + 3 young kids). We got a free standing clothes hanger from Pounstretcher which took all the coats and meant the van was free from them + a plasitc bin for the shoes, all of which lived in the awning.

So we are very pleased with it - if you are sitting on the fence over whether to get one my adivce would be to go for it!!!

HTH

All the best.

SB

Ian & SB thanks for your feedback. One more question on the easi porch please.

How light is it inside? It looks like it could be a little dark on some of the promotional pictures?? Are there enough windows?

Thanks Tony

Tony

It's plenty light and there are enough windows. Ours is blue / grey if that makes a difference, maybe,  I'm not sure.

One other thing I forgot to mention in my last post is that the supplied pegs are fine for grass but useless for gravel. I bought some steel 8in pegs in advance of our trip since I knew I would be pitching on gravel (it was a fully serviced pitch).

Just something to bear in mind that's all but the replacement pegs are cheap anyway.

Yes, I would say it's certainly light enough. Three windows in total, one on each side and at the front. Think this image shows it as quite airy / light http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/membershop/bluediamond/easiporch8.jpg

Sounds like it could do the job for a weekend.

Just feel a little nervous after the bad experience with the Scenic. I shudder to think of how much damage could have been done to the van when it gaave way if I hadn't been in the van at the time (I was a massive fan of the Scenic porch and had recommended it to loads of people!).

Conventional porch awnings seem dated and just as difficult to put up as their big brothers so this easi porch could well be a happy medium.

Thnaks for all the advice. Tony
