Look out in your local free paper (trade-it) for a caravan gas oven.
In the caravan the seperate oven is usually sited in the cupboard under the grill, on the rear of the oven there is a small flu, you'll need to cut a hole in the alluminium at the rear of the grill area to accept the flu, the heat is taken away through the grill area and not the side of the van, also the lid on the top of the cooker needs to stay open during use. The gas pipe runs from the floor upto the hob, this has to be cut and a compression tee piece put in so as to supply gas to the oven. When connecting all the fittings buy some gas tight compound and apply to all threads on fitings.
You will need to have the gas system pressure tested by your local dealer or a plumber with a u-tube before you can use it.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but there you have it

I have a Vanessa oven in our 26 year old van and I can tell you it's a great little oven that cooks a perfect roast. They are simple to fit because they are free standing and as long as there is a gap around them they can be fitted in any cupboard, if you line it with flame proof material. It will need a gas drop hole in the floor below it but they don't need a flue.

The one problem with them is the gas valve is in two half's, due to age the 'O' ring seal between tends to leak, it's a tiny leak but always get this checked before using.

our first van was a Sprite 400 about 15 years ago it was made in the 60s, our second van was a Swift Cornech 1989 5 birth great leaving the bed up as only the two of us , latest is a ABI Transtar 1991 two birth after rebuilding the shower area and numerous other miner repairers we now have a van  to our liking  we have had it now about 4 years, new vans are OK but you have to  have a heavy tow car as they don't seem to make lightweight vans any more, ps we still love tenting lol

The van we really miss is our old Stirling, 14 ft with two doors, all oak veneer and gas lights.

I would love to have another but the weight of 24 cwt is too much now.

However, our 1991 Coachman is doing good work for us, needs much more tlc just now but when I retire in 5 weeks time it will get it!
