Hi J & T had a look at the Virginia today and held one of the "fat" keys.

Its the locker door key and its got a wing on each side to make it wider.

Can't see that it will make me want to change.

The anti-condensation boards are fitted but I couldn't see anything else that is different.

              Sorry its taken so long to reply, just got back from 2 weeks in the Highlands. I didnt like the folding door on the Virginia or the fact that I could only access the under bed storage from inside the van itself. We are more than happy with the Oklahoma.

Just read back through the thread to see if I had missed anything, and I had. I dont like the idea of having to switch levers when the onboard water tank gets low, I see you have altered yours John, does it switch automatically back to the  Aquaroll when the low level light comes on?, I wish mines did.

Hi again.

It doesn't switch back automatically but I have used the gas box light switch via a relay to work a standard Whale pump but with the addition of the side contacts in the existing Whale socket.

A recent addition is a pump saver relay to the external (new) pump so that it switches off after 3 minutes which is the time taken to empty the aquaroll int the tank.

This is a boon as we usually forget to switch off the outside pump or get distracted or go back to showering etc.

When we remember the new warning light is on and the power to the relay can be switched off when convenient.

The relay takes the load for the pump ensuring that the existing gas box switch only takes the load of the relay contacts.This enables thicker cable to be run to the pump and minimises voltage drop.

I would only expect it to affect the warranty if it caused parts to fail and as the external pump and pump saver are non standard anyway they would be covered by their own warranty.

The seal between the existing socket and the van body is not affected as the contacts can be fitted to the original Whale shell(as I found out after buying the whole lot)

It then requires the existing fill pipe from the inlet to be disconnected (and plugged)and a new length of   water pipe from the inlet to the tank.

Bailey have just drilled a hole in the top of the tank for the existing pipe and you would need to do it in the same way for the new fill pipe.

I think I've missed some of this thread but from what I can gather John, you have disconnected the feed from your whale socket which originally went to the three way valve and piped it into your onboard tank.

You then use the original pump to supply the taps etc and leave the 3 way valve set to the onboard tank all the time.

When the onboard tank low level light comes on, it starts an external pump which tops it back up again from the aquaroll.

Is this about right??

Right but I have to manually switch the external fill tank pump.

If it did it when the light came on it would be possible for it to fill without being noticed so then the outside tank/aquaroll would be empty and a situation could arise that you ran out of water.

With the pump saver after three minutes the external pump automatically switches off.

Hope that is clearer
