thanks for the comment,I phoned the RAC back again and have been told again that I am covered for the car, passengers and the caravan,They will take all of us to our destination and home after as part or our insurance/RAC cover not with RAC rescue. I suppose only way we know for sure is if we need to use them, hopefully won't ever need to, fingers crossed !!
i have just rang up the RAC regarding no mention of the arrival scheme. the customerservices had'nt a clue. put me through to membership department (somewhere in india, she had no idea and she put me through to the ccc whom are taking this up with the RAC. iam not happy. in a accident you want things to be going for you not against, i do not want to talk to somebody in bombay that is for certain.

Bill the Bus...Don't understand this bit.' With Mayday is the caravan covered should you break down while not towing' Do you mean should the caravan become untowable whilst on site would Mayday get you home? We are with Mayday and I have never thought about this scenario. The car can tow but the caravan can't be towed...could happen!!!! Hitch problems or whatever.Has anyone had this problem?

No, what i was asking was- Should your caravan be on a site and you go out for the day and break down, car has to be towed home what happens to caravan. Apparently with AA your car is towed home but you have to make your own arrangements for caravan to be towed home. The caravan is only covered whilst it is attached to the car.
Bill the Bus, RAC Arrival through CCC will cover this scenario, included with Arrival is Re Unite which will bring your car back to the site if you are out for the day for eg. They also operate double journey cover, like Mayday, which as it says, will take you and the outfit to the site and if the vehicle cannot be repaired before planned return home, they will take you and the outfit back home. As mentioned in many of the other posts Arrival is only available to members of the CCC and these extra caravan related extras are not available with RAC Membership packages purchased elsewhere. Hope this helps.
Have upgraded my RAC membership today after joining CCC to Arrival. Phoned nice lady who just took the code, it has cost me no extra (Apart from joining CCC).
The cards with the magic words Arrival will be in the Post. So lets hope that if i ever break down the caravan will be covered.
Oh joy, I just got my RAC renewal cards through today -- and guess what, "arrival" isn't on them -- even though they just sent me out new cards 2 weeks ago which DO have "arrival" on them! So, now I'll have to phone the CCC, get the code, phone the RAC, tell them the code, and wait for the new cards. What fun!
------------- If only I had something clever to say you might not feel you are wasting your time by reading this.

Yes, but according to the RAC person I spoke to (see earlier post), they will only cover you so long as you are no more than 20 miles from the caravan! Not very far.
AA claim they will cover you for this, 'up to a reasonable distance'.
Does anyone have any experience of having used the service from either company? And can anyone with the RAC cover please have a wee look in their member's book/joining info to see if there is any mention of this clause.
Seems to be alot of confusion here, has anyone thought of posting this question on the RAC Motoring Forum, a link from www.rac.co.uk , I believe customer services monitor and help out with queries like this through the moderator, sometimes better than dealing with a call centre at the other side of the world.
