once when i was towing my van along a narrow winding road at about 20mph, a kind driver behind overtook me and indicated with his fingers that there were still 2 cars behind me, the next fellow overtook, tooted his horn a few times and indicated with his middle finger there was just 1 car left behind me, then a few minutes later the last driver overtook me and with his forefinger and thumb indicated there was now no cars left behind me, naturally i waved back at them all

I think those people have passed me too once or twice
------------- Of course I can handle it...I have children
its funny how us caravanners get waved at ! we did get waved at by a couple of youngsters in a modified car who decided to indicate their displeasure at us doing 60mph on the M1 northbound on the inside lane. funny really when if they had stopped and his lordship had got out then would they have been so brave.
still nice to see we are acknowledged
still even better to have a 6ft 8" heavyweight ex doorman as a husband.

I have just driven back from Poole in Dorset to Selby in North Yorks 270 miles! the vans I saw (passed some and was passed by some) nobody waved and the vans I did pass did not even have the decency to flash me in after passed them!!!
One stupid person was even flashing his lights for me to get a move on whilst passing HGV's at about 63 mph, he then shot off into the distance, my guess is doing about 80mph with his van nose heavy, first rate idiot and an accident wating to happen!
Fact is in this day and age most drivers are either in a great rush, or don't know how to drive or are just plain stupid.
I am old enough to remember waving 40+ years ago and the AA man would salute you if you had your AA badge on the car bumper. Waste of time now, perhaps due to increased level of traffic and Motorways.
Happy days!!!!!!!!
i remember this as well, the aa were on motor bikes. that was when i was a girl i am a member of the AA now and wouldnt be without them .
i wave when i see another welsh caravan in france but they probably think im mad.
