We're waiting too...

I ordered the number plate today... gradually working down the list of things!

Mark, what wheel clamp did you go for? I keep changing my mind!

Ashwellgirl, still no email from cc? Will it let you refer me online now?

Ohhhhhhh how have missed all these posts on a GT60!!!!!

Mines ordered & should be here for Feb!!! Well the dealer said late January but Febraury to be on the safe side.  I'm sooooooooo excited.

I'm going to start ringing for a few quotes on insurance this week ready for it to arrive. Can anyone give me a rough idea on insurance costs for it please.   Then i need an awning..... I love my caravan & will be sad to see the elddis go & hope somebody looks after it as much as we have but i can't wait to get the new one. Our kids are excited too. Both sons have picked 'their' beds.   Our 3year old is an Oliver too... he calls it a "caraban" & tells everybody we got 2 spare beds & they can come & stay in our new carban when we get it!!! (even shop assistants!)

I think i'm going to go looking for a mattress topper like you said ashwell girl or if you find one on ebay can you give me a link please......

I got a quote for £260 for insurance but haven't looked around properly yet. That was for storing in our garden, new for old & without tracking fitted.

I'm not sure, it was off an advert on the right on here just before we ordered as I wanted to make sure insurance wasn't going to be crippling!

How/where would you store the mattress topper? I get the impression that once they're unpacked they're quite bulky? Was contemplating getting 2 singles instead of a king to perhaps solve the storage issue...

We store the bedding on the bunks during the day and there is plenty of room on there for a half folded and rolled up mattress topper.  Though the 2 singles is a good idea

"Mark, what wheel clamp did you go for? I keep changing my mind!" - I went for this one... http://www.milenco.com/wheel-locks.html - Any thoughts?

My insurance is £268 (CG), stored at a gold site.

"I ordered the number plate today" - dealer said ours was included, also 13pin - 12s + 12n cable, another £36 saved!

Thinking about a motor mover, or I'm I just being lazy... I've not had any problems pushing my parents 1998 Abbey GTS212.

My boys are still talking about, how, when we have saved £1000, we can get a Bailey Ranger... My eldest (Oliver!) thinks he will be 11 when we get our van... he's 8 now :-)

I can't wait to show my parents, they are still bugging us to get a van!!! I had to inform them this Saturday that for next years family camping trip, we will still be in a tent. :-D

7 more sleeps!!!

Mark.

Mark can you video everyone's reaction when they see your new 'van.  I'd at least love to be a fly on the wall.  You must be so excited not only with the new 'van coming but the surprise you will be springing.  I love to be the one who gives a surprise.

I'm all for a GT60 sub forum, as you all know i LOVE my GT60 lol

Ditto to both of those comments J!

Ours is ready for collection!

That lock looks easy to put on...will add it to the possibilities. I need to stop procrastinating now!

"Mark can you video everyone's reaction when they see your new 'van." - Not going to be easy, I haven't even got video/camera on my phone! but I'll try. :-D

Just ordered the steady feet, steady power drill socket and step.

The steady power drill socket also fits the wheel clamp, so no need to use the supplied hand tool.

What about the motor mover?

Mark

But i want to see your family's reaction to it :(

I can thoroughly recommend the motor mover.  Ours is a truma and its brilliant.  Where we live is very tight to manouver a caravan and car so we used to have to unhook it and then push it back into its space over very rough, pitted ground so to walk behind the caravan with a remote control and get it into the exact spot you want really is heaven on earth lol.

I guess it depends on whether you think you need it or not.  For us it was really an essential rather than a luxury

re: Motor mover, we're getting one as soon as we can as where we're storing it isn't easy to get to but we're not rushing that one. If we had flat and level access to storage we'd probably not bother til we've used the van a bit and see how it goes. There's a thread somewhere on here from someone else with a GT60 540/6 who fitted a motor mover themselves - names make & model they used. I think the shock absorbers / Alko chassis rule out a few versions.

I can't wait to see my parents faces... they are relentless!

They phone me up at work to tell me they are sitting in a used 6 berth van at the dealers... They send me pictures of it, txt's that I should come down to see it etc.

I've been looking into the mover for sometime... and I think I've found the one for me, but house and storage areas are flat open grass and I'm thinking it's a bit of a luxury!

I do like the idea of moving the van to the car, not the other way round.

We will just have to see...

6 more sleeps!

Mark.
