We were at Blackmore C&CC last year & the wardens were spot on there! They tackled one guy for not cleaning up after his dog & (in a nice way) explained to a bunch of young kids why it wasn't a good idea to play footie between 2 caravans.
They were really busy that week - it was the week we got a year's worth of rain in 3 days & they were having to use their little tractors to move lots of vans around but they were still on the ball & happy, helpful with it so hats off to Blackmore!!

Just remembered 2 occasions last summer that really scared and angered me (as a parent). It's when parents just let their kids go to te play areas on their own when it specifies age ( although on play areas I know there can be an accident at any age!!). Twice I was there with my kids as sign said over under 6 always accompanied ( my youngest is 7 but is so accident prone as managed to break and dislocate her elbow in a soft play area!!??! - so you understand why I'm on hand!!)...anyway...each time a 5 year old was playing and slipped badly falling from a height onto their faces/armsribs. The screams could be heard but no-one came....my kids rushed with me to help but in this day and age you worry any help can be thrown back at you from parents. We managed to find the parents in the end and they were totally oblivious.....not even a word of concern for their child, let alone a thanks! I said to the parents about the age and the park is away from main area and slippy as been raining etc but made no odds.
Ok another rant over!!
------------- It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.
Car parking sometimes annoys me. I always have my car on one side of the van and awning on the other. An unwritten rule I believe. Sometimes when we've been out for the day we've returned to find our car space occupied by another car.
If it's not in the site rules, there's not much to be done though.
with my van being so small i can usually park across the pitch at the front or halfway up the side if i dont have my awning up
thing i hate is folk treating the site like a rally stage and driving at stupid speeds, have given a few gobfuls to folk that do that, had a laugh once when a clown lost it and ended up on mud and couldnt get out. there wasnt a load of folk helping him lol
another hate is the tweed jacket brigade that look down on everyone that doesnt have a big 4x4 towing a massive van. fortunately those are few and far between
I'm with Jusy about people taking a short cut over my pitch. Grrrrrr, I take my dog to the toilet block with me. I try to tie him somewhere out of the way if i can, He normally lies down and waits patiently, from time to time I find some giving him a stroke and making a fuss of him. When Its time to pack up and go I like to check around to make sure no litter is left behind or pegs. leaving it the same as i arrive. litter free.
We have a big 4x4 & a shiny new van but we'd never look down on anyone. Only reason we have them is MIL died last year & OH has used some of the money to buy them. We were happy with our 10yr old van & 04 reg VW Sharan but took the opportunity to get ourselves set up for at least the next 5 years.
We'll still look like clueless Numpties on site tho as it's only our 2nd season & just as we'd figured out how everything worked (awning etc...) we've changed everything! Back to square 1 but should give a few people around us a good laugh!

It's in the rules with the caravan club
I thought it varied from site to site and pitch to pitch exactly where you park - some pitches won't allow the awning-van-car arrangement, and force the car-awning-van style (which I prefer, to be honest).

Barbecues - ok, just because other peoplelike the taste of burnt food doesn't mean I want the smoke and the smell drifting over my van and awning. Yuck!

Whats wrong with the car/awning/van arrangement? I didn't know there was a right or wrong way. When we stayed at Harbury Fields (CC affiliated site) last summer our hardstanding pitch wasn't big enough for all three so i asked the owner if it would be all right to park the van on the grass so that the awning and car were on the h/s (this being the the best way to preserve the grass). Not a problem with the owner, was told that would be OK.
I agree with you Tigermouse, barbecues! Just because people are on holiday do they need to get their GAS barbecues out at 7.00 in the morning to cremate their bacon and then get it out for dinner and then again for tea! I love a barbacue when I am on holiday but once possibly twice in a week, and I use charcoal! I can't understand why they use gas barbecues, it just seems to much hassle to keep getting it out at EVERY meal time. You also get the BIG 4x4, BIG CARAVAN, BIG SATELITE DISH brigade who look down on people with smaller or older outfits. God I sound miserable....This weather is getting to me know, roll on the caravan season!!!
