I agree with the post above a decent 18v drill will do the job.

An impact driver is a definate no.

As I said before when winding on when you reach the first vertical "mark" continue for a second or so. Once you get use to the driver you can set the torque to cut out at this point.

I think my drill is 24Volt, was a cheapy from netto at around £15... does the job, but doesn't hold its charge for long after a good year of use. But long enough for one round of mover and steadies.

I find I like to get the mover rollers onto the wheels, then finish it off with the steady tool myself. I find I can judge the resistance applied to the tyre better than just the visual guides alone. But then that's just me.

Let me know if you find any bargains...I could be in the market myself for one.

Hi Dave and Cgowey. My local power tool man did me a deal on a Makita Drill Driver with two  2.6ah Ni-MH batteries and a case. The drill does the job in double quick time. Its like having a  motor activated mover. I am now really impressed. My old drill must be  real weakling and I began to doubt if i had fitted the right mover. 

 I nearly bought a Ryobi set copnsisting of a drill driver and a hammer drill for under £100 which I think is an equally good buy.

I finally got around to taking the ego off my caravan today, ready for its fitting to my new caravan later next month when we go to collect it.

After taking 2 days initially to fit it in really hot weather, I managed to get the mechanics off in 1.5 hrs including getting the tools out initially, then about another 45 mins to an hr to undo all the motor electrics from the van and make good.

Unfortunately, I am aching now.......but glad its done. And for the refit, I am paying someone else to have all the aches and pains this time around.

Yes quite a few bumps to the head. Still no sense though! My new van is a swift charisma.
