I don't think it is only a UK thing.

We are in Scandinavia at the moment and not only have we found that there seems to be little regard for safe spacing of units, but we have also had children tearing around on bikes between the vans, people walking through right up to our windows, and even stopping to peer in!

Ball games near vans are however a big "no no" here, which is good.

Loads of noise late at night is a 'no-no' for me! We have kids and yes they can be a pain but we encourage people to ask them to keep away if they do not enjoy their company - yes we do sometimes take a shortcut or 2 through campsites as long as it doesn't compromise other campers privacy and yes we are almost certainly not perfect campers but the old saying live and let live springs to mind hehe. We put up with people cutting across our pitch on their way to the loos, we put up with a noisy night or 2 from camping neighbours and we put up with other familys noisy kids - mainly because people put up with us too! We love the give and take of camping and sometimes its annoying but usually its a joy to see and hear other peoples way of life. We find if you smile and talk to others, small problems stay that way

Why am i doing this instead of camping??!!

I have no problem with noise from children playing ,but i have a problem when they play ball games around my caravan,,i have seen the warden on many sites tell them not to play ball games next to the caravans ,and the parents ,have protested that they are on holiday ,and doing no harm ,but if you look at the  caravan they arived in  it look,s like it had been panell beated, and the kids dropping the scooters, and bikes in front or behind my van and car and left for hours before the parents collect them, shows lack of supervision, this is my only pet hate ,this is rare and most of the time caravaners i find respect the fact that that the caravan park is for all to enjoy ,be it couples or family,s .i think most treat there fellow caravaners ,how they would like to be tret themselves, thats why it works ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,  I LOVE CARAVANING ME

May the roof of your camper
