Only ever use ours in the van. Have never used site facilities. I know who has been in ours!!!!!

Wouldn't caravan if we didn't have our own shower and toilet.

Now we have a bigger shower room we use ours.  Never liked using the site showers as I always seem to get the water splashing onto the "drying off and dressing" bit of the cubicle and even balancing on one leg like a circus performer still getting wet jeans or skirts.  I was not too keen on the dirty water in the bucket and grubby mop heads which were used to sluice down the shower afterwards, often thought I was putting more dirt on the tray that there was just after the soapy shower!

I never used the showers in our previous vans.  We have just changed, and this van has a proper walk in shower cubicle.  We were away last weekend in horrible weather and it was nice to go straight from a hot shower into bed without trapsing across a windswept site.

It is however my job to fill the aquaroll and empty the waste so I will continue to use the site facilities, but it's nice to have as a backup.

Yes we do, quite often even when there are site showers. It is also used for washing clothes and drying undies.

As long as the site has EHU we tend to use our own shower more than the sites.

Gradually going off the idea of using the sites showers, especially when the plughole contains other peoples hair, at least in our van I know it's only mine or daughters.

Also when they charge seperately for showers you may as well use your own as you have already paid for your electric, it's just the refilling of the aquarolls that needs doing, although all 3 of us get a shower out of one barrell.

Good to have everything at hand afterwards and be in the warmth of the van, if I use the sites showers tend to go there and back in dressing gown.

Spotted your and Dianes replies on the 'Crappy old caravans' thread.

We also had new tyres fitted August 2010 after a blow out which ruptured the shower area floor, hubby repaired and re-inforced the floor area near the wheels, so if it happened again the rubber wouldn't rupture the floor again, I got the shower tray fixed by a fibre-glass company.

We have her booked in for a service next March and then we will start using her again early April through to end of October, can't wait.
