As mentioned already the compromise I guess is ability to manoevure onto pitches and quite simply you won;t be able to visit some campsites due to access the one we stayed on in Germany recently springs to mind and can't picture any way of accessing either side of the site for pitches



hi. mine is 33ft long when in towing mode . thats a 20ft fifth wheeler behind my double cabbed mitsubishi canter . .i also have a 10ft caravan and behind my mazda bongo is only 9inches shorter than my fifth wheeler both in tow mode .
using a fifth wheel allows far better manouverability than a normal caravan .
its a severn seater truck so makes a great run around if by itself .
but yes you do need to get the right outfit . mine is 7ft6ins wide 3mtr high . not as high as many m,caravans . i have had it 14 yrs now . best bit of kit i,ve ever bought .
