How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I was willing to believe that Lunar's had stopped leaking ..... my local Lunar Dealer said that the 'Leaky Lunar' tag was an old image which doesn't apply anymore ...... I did point him to a Lunar Quasar 462 which he was proudly displaying, it was pouring water in through the aerial .... and I mean pouring!!
He has now locked the caravan in question, it's no longer on display to the public - obviously the leaky Lunar tag remains to this day ........ that Quasar leak on a brand new van was just simply un acceptable, how did it pass whatever goes for inspection at Lunar??
It's a seal that's either missing or needs replacing. Get over it and move on.

Seal, or not a seal, it shouldn't leave the factory like it ...... where is the quality control?
If the product I design was allowed out of the factory gate without a seal - not only would I be sacked - but many thousands of people could lose their lives!
If you were a buyer, who had parted with £14,000 for your dream, you would quite rightly expect that the builder of that dream had taken care and delivered the dream without it turning into a nightmare!
As the aerial actually covers the mast unless its been put in the vertical orientation are you sure it was rain water pouring in and not condensation on the mast this is a fact of physics and is not indicative of a leak.
It was raining outside, the water was pouring into the wardrobe down the mast - I work at the forefront of Science ....... if that was condensation then Lunar have re-written all the physics laws known to man.
As they cannot even build a leak free caravan, or pick up a fault in manufacture, I think that highly unlikely!!
"As they cannot even build a leak free caravan" You have been in ONE van with a leak, where are your statistics for the thousands of others out there. As I said before get over it and move on.

I had a lunar and it never leaked or had damp, my sister owns it now, it is a 2005 lunar zenith, and it still goes through its services damp and leak free. I'm sure if they leaked or were that bad I wouldn't see so many on campsites, they are everywhere, so lunar must be doing something right lol.

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
I'm just having a laugh with all you Lunar Owners .... I might be one too if the deal for a Venus 490/4 comes off :)
That said, the water was pouring into that Lunar Quasar 462 like a good 'un!! True it was just one Lunar I have seen leak in the rain, but I've only seen about 4 - that's a 25% failure rate!!
Seen the 490/4 and 500/4, both were good looking vans and offered excellent value for money ... if this is a sign of things of things to come then the 2013 Lunar range will be something to see.

Yes, the 490/4 and 500/4 are pretty good value at £12,000 OTR.
The double bed at 4' wide could be a challenge ... and the front bed needs making up if you want to use it as a double bed (you cannot use it as 2 singles unless for kids).
Lack of a microwave could be an issue to some - as would the unlined shower. I like the generous use of rooflights, no omnivent though. Locking window catches are a nice touch ..... not too sure about the flat single piece side aluminium (looks a bit slab sided to be honest).
The only point i had i am 6ft 5ins tall and the 490/4 Fixed Bed would not be big enough and we had a look at the 500/4 Twin Beds what a laugh my wife was Ok but me no chance it nice being light weight but come on Lunar Caravans make the beds longer and wider and then i might fit..................
