I've never regretted changing to a van. Having said that my one holiday in a tent was an experience that I hated and would never repeat.

OH on the other hand is tall and moans about the length of the bed. He occasionally sleeps in the awning but strangely enough I never hear him moan on a cold night.

We originally got a tent so we could have weekends away but the time that was needed to set up and pack away meant that we barely had any time away. The caravan has changed that and we frequently go away for weekends.

We loved our FC and other canvas things etc before as we just like getting away so never regreted anything really. But saying that we did expect to keep the last one the Pennine Fiesta more than we had it, but it was not to be, it all caught up with me mostly & very fast. Time to change now it has  given us another lease of life
to just carry on regardless. I cannot say I do NOT miss the room we had with the FC it is by far bigger than a caravan as the beds are already made up no hassle then. But we use the 2 single long beds and just sit on our sleeping bags which we use opened out. Now will cover with the patchwork blanket made made our niece's pillows making up for the cushions.

Lovely and snug when as finally was shown the heating though, our fault a pair of wallies we are.17

We have just swapped from Raclet TT after 6 years to a caravan.  Having spend June down on the coast at Weymouth and the awful weather we decided enough was enough.  We are lucky enough to have free storage for the van and at present only use an large porch which is enough for us.  As most have said, if the weather is fown, you park up, legs down and plug in.  Sorted.   (oh, and lucky enough to have a mover which makes parking it up sooooo much easier)

Don't forget the kettle can go on quicker & the feet up knowing it's all over with. Yup! that is a good part of it as we always carried a flask already filled for our cuppa but still had to continue onward or rather Bob did so it is very good for him17
