Aye, we're all different right enough and the posts on this thread are evidence of that.

I'm sure there will be a few in line if anyone picks up that baton and runs with it but till then I too will stick to the CC for the good bits which are probably the CL's and reasonable caravan insurance. The magazine is probably no worse than the commercial ones and readers' letters are entertainment value and often represent everything I hate about the CC. I might love it more if there were cheaper sites for us pensioners but I won't enflame that debate.

It was just a suggestion but probably in the "too difficult" tray.

Any club formed would have to have certain rules for campers, it could not be a free for all to do as they please. You could not have people arriving when they like, leaving when they like and pitching whereever they like for instance. So there would still be people moaning just like they moan about the CC and the C&CC because they can't have everything exactly their own way. Leave UKCS as it is and use the existing clubs if you want to have someone to moan about.

I've only ever used one CC site and to be honest I didn't like it. Maybe it's the fact that with a young family and working hours cut to part time I bought an old CI Europa. Certainly an old van and at the time not very pretty. I found other members would not talk to us or even acknowledge us on site.
Sorry if our old van upsets people but its all we have, suits our needs, and we have had great times in it.
Or maybe it's all the yrs we've spent under canvas and got used to how friendly other tenters are.

At first read I did not share your view about being ignored on CC sites. We are often engaged in chats but thinking back to when our van was a 10'Sprite 400 with one mod con (gas lamps) we then had the same feeling.

I assure you that even when we had our super duper, all singing new caravan we didn't treat anybody any differently whether they had an old caravan or not.We always use CC sites.We started off with a small, old Lunar Meterorite and we loved it. We didn't notice if we were treated differently or not.Don't be put off by stuck up caravanners, it takes all sorts to make a world.It's their problem not yours.
