Could it be to do with the fact the area is a twat magnet?
Too much sun and too many chavs equals trouble.

Ahhh Finally I can vent about Toilet Etiquette

I've just come back from 2 great weeks in the Lake district, spent both weeks in caravan club sites. everything was spotless in both sites apart from the Mens "Sit Downs".

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU FELLAS, if (as we say at home)you have "drop the kids off" make sure any floaters & skiddies are gone BEFORE you leave. It ain't nice! I'm pretty sure you DONT do at home, as the Wife/Girlfriend (or Boyfriend) would leave you if you did!

Surely this would describe any holiday resort, sun and chavs.
Or are you talking from experience/facts about this place pacifically.
