Good to hear you have taken some action. I have made a couple of posts on Facebook but they do tend to get a bit lost. Be interesting to hear what they say in their reply.

This the email message I received from the CCC

Thank you for your email regarding the new pricing structure we have introduced for the coming season.

The decision to completely revamp the pricing structure was made working closely with the National Council. This decision was not taken lightly and we believe it to be in the best interests of our members and of the Club to ensure we are still providing our members, and customers with a great camping experience along with competitive prices.

Our old pricing structure didn’t provide the Club with the flexibility we really wanted to offer our members and customers. The new way of offering a fluid pricing structure falls in line with much of the Tourism and Leisure industry standards. Unfortunately, as you mention, there is no concrete way for you to know the exact price at the time, unless you make a booking, or get a quote. This is one of the reasons we have added the 'To' price to the pricing leaflet, so that members always know the maximum they will ever pay.

We are confident that the new pricing structure will improve occupancy to drive an improved site network, offer a greater opportunity for value deals to camp on Club Sites and has enabled us to offer enhanced member benefits including an improved family deal, children half price and a 25% discount for Age Concession members.

I hope this helps, and if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know

Best regards,

Drew

Greetings,

Without really trying, here are some bites from the letter received.

"Our old pricing structure didn’t provide the Club with the flexibility we really wanted to offer our members and customers."
My translation; We weren't satisfied with the returns we were getting."

"This is one of the reasons we have added the 'To' price to the pricing leaflet, so that members always know the maximum they will ever pay."
My take; This means unfortunately? (for you) that we can't tell you how much you will pay until you turn up."

"We are confident that the new pricing structure will improve occupancy.
My translation; We are certain that there will be more space on our sites, particularly in the shoulder season when the concession camper will vote with his or her feet, wheels and pedal bike.
and Finally

"a 25% discount for Age Concession members."
My interpretation;
If we didn't tell you that it was more than this in 2013 then you would never guess we are actually charging you more.

The Club?????? must think that the collective that is their members?????? are numpties.
For my part I know what I will be doing come renewal time but I'm not broadcasting it. The Club???? wouldn't like it.

They have already emailed me saying due to my request they have stopped my auto club renewal (direct debit) when due next June. I have not requested this although like many others on this forum and on their F/Book page I have said that I will not be renewing when due, no request was sent to them. Guess they must not have liked my comments which are no different to any other peoples comments, well I suppose it has saved me a phone call next year.

Add to all this a 38% increase in DFDS prices this year! For my car and van, and my hobby is getting very expensive!!!!!

Nope, you are looking at 2013 seasons. 2014 bookings not available until November 7th as clearly shown on the pages explaining the price changes.

The insert you got with the Your Place in the Country called Camping and Caravanning Club sites. Just inside is the site fees. You will see it states:
Low...Mid....Shoulder...High. Adult per pitch per night by price band.

Say you went to Beadnell Bay. There are two of you. age concession. + Englands season dates not thje same as Scotlands Say the first 2 weeks of June.
Band is number 4
Mid season. 1st - 12th June +Mid + 2 nights at shoulder
Prices for 4 = £7.70- 8.85 pppn. If there is a lots people booked already it becomes £8.85 + 2 nts £9.85. If there is not many people there it becomes less 12nts £7.70 + 2 nts at £8.60
Then there is grass with elec = £3.85
H/S with elec = £4.85

Unless I have the Prices for the more people or less people mixed up and you pay top price if less people on site and smaller one if more people on site.

But it does seem that you pay more to cover the clubs lack of getting funds when less people are camping.

NOW IF THIS IS THE WRONG WAY ROUND LET ME KNOW AS I AM ALREADY IN A MUDDLE.LOL but not really laughing

I think we are all being unkind to the Camping and Caravanning Alienation Committee. I think they have done a magnificent job.

Just put the penny's worth on their Facebook site. Look at the accounts for the year ending 2013 March and you can see why the prices have gone so much. Cabin holidays disaster I am going to call it.

Yes I know the insert was in the new book showing Shoulder Season and Band number. The price and season scales online have clearly not been updated but other things have eg. Age con 60 years & 25%. So do they Waite till November to do this? Half measures again?
